Hiya, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes.

I'm a male in my late 50s, married for almost 30 years, and I'm considering an encounter with an escort.

I'm quite paranoid about STIs and hygiene, so I'd only have protected vaginal sex with a condom, and would also insist on covered oral sex — nothing else.

Given those precautions, how much risk would I realistically be taking of contracting an STI? Are there particular infections that can still be transmitted despite using condoms?

I'm not looking for judgement — just trying to understand the actual level of risk before making a decision.

You're far from paranoid for using a condom. There is low risk of still getting an STI even with a condom although it's unlikely. Sexual health doctor's recommend an STI check every 3 months regardless of if you use a condom or not. I think I got offered uncovered blowjob through sign language (she coudn't speak english) about a month ago, but I declined and kept the condom on. Sex without a condom is russian roulette.

Some of the guys on here really get around but I don't think they have gotten anything incurable if anything.

Welcome and enjoy the forum! Safe sex is the only way to mitigate the risk of STI's so you're doing the right thing. There is no such thing as 100% protection but keep thinking with the big head and not the little head and you should be ok.

Yeah, just being married just don't want to risk passing anything along. Almost went through with something today and then backed out because of the worry.
