Female Circumcision

A

Adam4

just for the sake of controversy and interest just thaught I would mention the topic.

In my years have not seen a real example of the practise, but nurses I know have told me about it and also the practise of sewing up the genitals to stop intercourse and proof of virginity [cultural].

Aslo the desire of men to have the child born by C section [cannot spell ceserarian?] so that the vagina is still tight for next time.

?

WOW that sounds scary and like fresh from the dark ages. I can't imagine that this cruel practises are still popular today.
I know that tribes in Africa used to circumsise young women to take away the sexual pleasure spots.......a few of them are still doing it.
I can't imagine that it is done to women in OZ......but then.....nothing is impossible.
Does somebody know more about it?

Certainly seems to the feeling of Dark ages mentality,

I have always considered this and other ways of female mutilation and deprivation as being brought on by males who are frightened of the women in their life standing along side of them or even being better at things in life.

this is not a comment on religion, just practices that make me wonder are we all of the same world and flesh and blood!

Adam I have never heard men endorsing C section for there partner , but all my mates recon there got big dicks.
As for woman there vagina's stretch a mile ( 1.6 kilometers) before they tear a inch (25.4 MM )
Now I will stop BULLSHITING you . the truth is many MUM's have realty fantastic vagina's right up there with the best.

I fully agree one friend has had 4 kids and she is as tight as any newbie but it seems to be a perception with some males that it will all change after the kids are born. Ignorance I guess

I think female circumcision is a barbaric practise, but I watched a doco the other day on it and it was interesting to hear different perspectives. In this particular third world country, the women who do it for a job were finding that they were in poverty now because of the decline of this practise. They had been brought up to do it right from childhood, and their mothers had done it before them, and their mothers before them ... etc....

It is not easy for these women to just "retrain" like it can be in the West, so they were finding it difficult to make ends meet, and it was easy to see that a lot of their individual identity and esteem was inherent in what they did for a living, which they had been taught via their culture was a positive way to make a living in the long term, for them and their "clients."

So there a no winners here, very sad for everyone.

I think its like male it should be up to the individual to make a choice if they want to be or not. I have seen the third world ways males and females are circumcised its ruff to say the least.

So am i it makes me sick to tell you the truth i highly believe that each person should have there own right to choose and that the decision should not be made until they are well aware of whats really going on. We have all been taught by our parents, grandparents ect.......... that we are all individuals and have our own right to choose i don't see that here at all.

Read about female circumcision a few days ago, more a histroy lesson then an actual update but interesting regardless.
In the 18th century of North African tribes circumsised their women to avoid infidelity. The men were allowed to have several wives but the wives had to be faithful (haha tell me something new, some things will never change) and to minimise the risk of a wife sleeping with another man they cut off the pleasure areas. So female circumcision had nothing to do with hygiene. The only females not circumsised were the women in the king's harem but they belonged to the king entirely and all other males living in the harem were eunuchs.
And back to Alecia's doco......back then it was such a 'normal' part of a female's live it would have been an offence/social rejecton/outcast not be circumcised.:BangHead:

well it wouldn't be my choice as i have read many books that involve female circumcision and i think that is ruff... but each to their own!

Re: Female Circumcision/Choice

I am not 100% sure that the female has any choice in this "operation" being performed [bit like the guys really] it is the parents or the culture that makes the decisions.

Hi there,
Unfortunately female circumcision is still practiced in certain parts of Africa!! There are even movie stars who engage in stopping this cruel mutilation of the female body. If anybody ever wants to engage in fighting the mutilation of the clitoris there certainly are politically active organisations, included a few human right organisations. Female circumcision is a entirely religious ritual, rooting from so called 'natural religions' in certain parts of the world. It serves the prevention of sexual arousal in a woman so that she would not engage sexually prior to her (usually arranged) marriage. The problem is that it cannot be reversed or corrected, as surgery for "restoring virginity"
Concerning 'C-section": yes, there are partners who prefer their partners to deliver the baby via surgical intervention. More so, it became a very common, wide spread practice in Asia, where women who can afford the surgery prefer this method over vaginal delivery for keeping the vagina tighter. It is a known fact that women often or mostly get wider vaginas after they gave birth to a child. This is also the reason for undergoing laser surgery in order to tighten up the vagina again. On the other hand it does NOT concern all women at all who gave birth to a child or several children. It mainly is influenced by genetics (!!!) and general muscle tonus, in how far a woman's vagina will tighten up again, as other parts of her body as well, i.e. abdominal skin, upper tights and any other result of a carried out pregnancy!

Its needs to be clarified, female circumcision is when they cut out the girls "Clitoris" so she cannot enjoy sex. For sex for me the man only to enjoy. Barbaric in the extreme and is simply designed to control women.

Male circumcision while not as widely done as previous generations, is highly recommended for health and a bit of trivia, HIV researches have found circumcised men have a much much lower odds of contracting HIV. They are no recommending male circumcision throughout africa and asia to help slow the spread,
