Hi All

Langtrees Electricity Agreement is due at the end of September and would like any suggestion of any cheaper Electricity providers.

At the moment we are with Synergy and our new agreement on offer is as follows:

Energy Charges c/k kWh

On Peak Off Peak Daily Supply Charge $/day

43.2900 14.0800 3.0772

Would appreciate any suggestion

I am not aware of any other electricity providers in Perth. If there is I’d like to know as well.

In Western Australia there is only Synergy that provides electricity. It's only gas in WA that you can choose a provider.

That is my understanding as well. Wish there was more competition that’s for sure. Synergy could do with some opposition.

I don't - the rest of Australia are on the national grid and looked what happened to them a few months ago.

These links will be helpful I guess.

I’m no expert. If regulated properly it could work and put downwards pressure on rising utility prices.
I switched from alinta gas some time ago and still enjoy a great rate even with Alinta constantly calling and trying to get me back they still cannot match the other providers.

Dino - As Thirsty & I have stated there is only one electricity provider in WA and that is Synergy which run by the WA Government.

I searched in google and found out these companies who provide I shared it along with some critics to avoid any mislead.
Dino - Perth is part of the South West Interconnected System - a large electricity grid that encompasses most of the bottom half of WA. The grid is owned by Western Power (WA Government). Synergy is the commercial arm of Western Power that sells electricity to its customers. Everybody in this area has to purchase the electricity from Synergy - you have no other choice unlike purchasing natural gas.

Why is this thread in the "Start Here Say hello to Activate your Membership" forum?

Anyway, have you considered installing solar panels and selling electricity back to Synergy? I'm sure with such a large roof you could recoup your initial investment quickly.

Dino isn’t wrong. Businesses that spends more than $15,000 per annum or use more than 50,000 kWh per annum are considered to be contestable customer and can select a provider other than Synergy, there are a number of options such as Alinta Energy, Perth Energy, ERM Power etc.
