Would you consider donating your organs to science?

so I watched this documentary “dying to live” and it got me thinking.... (I may not be worth much in dollar value after life, lol) but at least there’s hope in helping out somebody else.
Not entirely sure about the glitter part... that’s just a daydream right now.

I’m not one for religious talk... but donating organs that are just going to rot into the earth and turn to dust eventually... would be the better option... cos “life after *death*” — would actually mean what it means.... literally...
 
... or if it comes to the point of my death and I haven’t made a difference in someone’s life... maybe that is the time that it will happen 🤣😂

(That was supposed to sound more positive than I thought it would be when I thought about it in my head/ compared to writing it out)

The soul goes to God. Not your body. :) I have not as yet set myself up as a donor. But I have a strong heart, lungs, kidneys and liver so I may yet donate.

I probably didn’t explain that right // and there are probably more options than I thought there would be to it all... but after watching that documentary and seeing/personally knowing second hand how long the waiting lists are in hospitals... it made me think and look into it further. Each to their own. But I get where you’re coming from too... (who knows if extracting organs after death can save a life immediately if they were just sitting...waiting around in a lab)

That's very thoughtful, Madyson. However, writing it in your will is not an effective method for donating your body. You should contact the university you want to donate to, and fill out the required forms. They will then issue with a donors card.

If the uni you have in mind is the ANU, you can contact:
the Research & Body Donation Coordinator (ANU Medical School), Florey Building, 54 Mills Road, The Australian National University, Acton ACT 2601

I think (for Australia), regardless on where/how you made the choice; it all gets linked up to Centrelink/govt in the end anyway.
ie. someone chose because it was asked in drivers licence application/ others because of hospital admissions, etc etc.
but if you opted to be registered... not really sure if family can still stop that after? it all becomes legal issues 🤦🏻‍♀️🤔💭
 
yes donating and helping science is my way and after they are done I want to be cremated even if there is just a finger left
