I’ve watched that clip many times. Prince‘s guitar work is amazing. If you want to see Clapton play guitar at his best live watch the clip of Holy Mother from the concert for the children of Bosnia. Added bonus of having Pavarotti on vocals.
 
Different stringed instrument so can't compare but it does come close to blowing Prince out of the water.

George Harrison always carried a couple of ukuleles with him on his travels and would invite strangers to jam with him. His son continues that tradition.
