teach them right from wrong correctly
then things like games will have no effect on the way they act

I've played them since they were invented and I'm a well behaved child :D .. however anything in excess can have a detrimental effect and the definition of excess varies between individuals.

The biggest worry about video games or anything else involving screens is the time kids spend slumped on the couch instead of interacting with other kids, walking the dog, climbing trees and doing other forms of physical activity. Especially in the pre-school period these activities are vital for their physical and mental development and, of course, we all know about "couch potatoes" and the health problems inactivity can cause in later life.

Like alcohol, junk food and other "nasties" screen time needs to be rationed and enjoyed in moderation and learning the self-discipline to control this is another vital life skill which needs to be taught to kids early.

I have a 16 year old niece who plays video games, role playing mostly. She understands it's just a fantasy and the demons and magic aren't real yet my mother who's concerned about her and video games spends far more time at church. My neice has a passtime and knows its a fantasy, my mother has one and believes hers is real. She told me, Jesus appeared to her in the lounge once. My niece doesn't allow her fantasy to affect her life, my mother allows it to affect her life and tries to impose it on those around her. If my niece said that world of warcraft characters were appearing in her lounge room or told others that it was real, adults would ban her from the computer and have her psychologically assessed, then want video games banned.

Love the "apple-pie scenario but this also highlights why we shouldn't listen to the censorship lobby.

A few million people watched this film and came to no harm. One moron can't tell fantasy from reality and somehow it is the film maker's fault?

Does this mean we have to dumb everything down to the level of the lowest I.Qs out there?

Do people get influenced by movies..?

I think we are influenced by everything we see/do/experience but I don't think its a bad thing. We learn both what to do and what NOT to do from others. This boy just has a severe lack of common sense.

Nope, I played video games as a kid and was well-behaved.
hehehehehe.........I did not play video games (non around back in the day) and was not well behaved.......... ;)
If video games do anything....then that's supporting child obesity.

We love to point at the USA but Switzerland has one of if not the highest rate of gun deaths anywhere in he world
Worse still All young men are taught to kill As they have national service And every man has a government issued firearm and bullets in there house
So no need for a license I presume

Switzerland is too far up the north end, who cares...lol...besides I am very sure they have those firearms purely for self defense only. Finger pointing at the US of A is in, and there haven't been too many reports of psycho gunmen in the Swiss alps.
