Deposits - Yes or No

Hi there, I thought I'd start a discussion about deposits for 2 reasons, 1. Been in Darwin for 6 days and so far I've had 3 no shows and 3 cancellations and 2. There is a gentleman on these forums that got severely ripped off by a sex worker.
I am in my hotel feeling very pissed off. I'm at least $1,000 worse off for this. I'm a low volume escort, so their slots cost me money, not to mention the time I take getting ready showering and makeup and perfume. When I'm touring, there are airfares, accommodation (Darwin is expensive) and advertising costs.
However a few years ago, when I was told to take deposits, I lost alot of bookings, so I haven't taken deposits since.
I can also understand gentlemen feeling hesitant about paying money to someone he hasn't met yet, especially when word gets around when someone gets ripped off.
What does everyone think. To me it's a damned if I do, damned if I don't.
 
Hi Jessica I agree with you deposits are needed to secure time slots ! think 20% is fair. I had one gent the other night booked for 9pm NO SHOW he then sms at 10.30 and said I've finished dinner ready for my girl. After you can imagine my reply he did call & apologize but at least two bookings were lost because of him. I got beemit yesterday just need to learn how to use. Who wants to send me a $1 so I can practice and get it right I will send it back, you might want to do the same Jess our forum members are very helpful to us ladies.

Hard 1 . I been ' done ' .. lost 150 to the lady , who had always been gr8 before this time. No reason given why .. Never again 4 me.

well firstly that sucks and I do feel badly for you. This is a tricky one as there are risks on both sides of the equation.

Personally I would not have a problem paying an up front deposit and I agree with Mr Langtrees that a minimum %20 is reasonable ( then again I would think %50 is not unreasonable), however I am an optimist and have trust that if a WL cancelled on me, I would simply be either able to re-book or redeem my deposit. The chances that if I pay a deposit and dont show are negligible (baring an emergency), so therefore I am would not hesitate to pay the deposit.

Me personally I would never pay a deposit. (Making this statement is due to the fact I have been punting for a very long time)
For me personally, all I do is find another lady.
However you need to find your own balance, maybe the guys who do not show up are fairly young lets say 30 under. If this is your case well then deposit all the way.
As well look at the punters you have been getting, if they are mature say 45 or older then maybe no deposit needed.
That will leave you your grey zone of 30 to 45 year old's this is where you need to decide where you will draw your own line.

No. I paid a deposit via beemit to Arissa from sb and she cancelled two weekends in a row on me because she had hayfever allegedly. She did repay the deposit, but it alarmed me a bit and that was my first and last experience with a sb lady.
 
Yes. 100% for all my private bookings. All done via Beemit. If a client is not happy with this then I do not feel safe with them in my personal space. I may loose bookings because Of this but I don’t feel like I’m loosing quality:)
 
Not a hope in hell. We get our time wasted just as much. It’s the gamble we all take.
Anyone asking for deposits is over entitled.
How does the client claim compensation with no shows?
