It's really eerie, so absolutely quiet except my roosters (yay they are okay)waiting for daylight to see what was going on out there since it got dark. I haven't been outside since 2.30pm yesterday. No power since early afternoon but was pretty sure that would happen.
I will admit it was quite scary.
Normally I'm pretty tough but there was a few things going on.
I was on my own.
I seriously injured my arm on Friday during cyclone preparation, so only one arm really usable and unable to drive.
Was burning up quite badly but pretty sure the antibiotics have kicked in now.
Haven't been in this house during a cyclone.
Where we lived during Cyclone Marcus was a new suburb with no trees.
My poor pet pig was totally freaking (barricaded in our lounge) and the cats and dogs were mad for being locked in.
The stupid chickens and turkeys just wandered around until their bedtime. I guess they've had a good wash and fluffing now.
I must say my neighbours were great. We live rural. They called a few times, messaged and one lovely old fella popped over quickly to make sure I had what I needed and to reassure me. Bloody legend.
So yeh, here I am, happily in my room, in my house (one of the lucky ones), its pitch black, waiting to see what the day literally brings.
