Do you have or intend to have a Christmas tree?

If you don't do the tree thing is there a reason why?

Last year M got rid of our tree when we moved house and he said we didn't need one that it was annoying and a waste of money to have sitting around all year to just go up for a month. (I do not think throwing it out was environmental, and I wouldn't support do so every year.) So he said that from then on we wouldn't have a tree.

Our youngest kidlet asked rather matter of factly why we don't have one yet, as Christmas is a hot topic at day care! She was heartbroken when we told her we didn't have one....

When the new teacher at our primary school (This is late 90's) said there will be no decorations that may cause upset to any culture Our household became even more determined to have every facet of Christmas on display

My fave ?The above school teacher was not invited to any drinkies or functions over the festive period as had always been the tradition. As we did not wish to cause offence

Hope you weren't planning on taking the youngster to the pageant last night as well
There's only so much Christmas heartbreak a child can take

This is how it should be Instead of us being scared to offend We should be more inclusive as should those we are terrified of insulting

My daughter bought herself the most massive and beautiful chrissy tree this year. She got it second hand on Gumtree. I haven't got a tree yet having a love hate relationship with Christmas makes this tricky. Being the hippy I am, I'm leaning towards a small live tree in a pot that can go in the garden after Christmas. My daughter lives same street as me so kids can enjoy it there. We have been focusing on Advent more this year and just can't buy into the consumerism that comes with Christmas. My family think I'm a nut case as I don't even do rapping paper. My son's children presents I give them to wrap if that want paper. The notion of buying something just to rip it up and put it in the bin.

You can buy non rapping paper Miss Monique Classical Christmas paper is nice :)

We got a Christmas Tree! It was so worth watching the little people's enjoyments putting up the decorations.... I think thats about as much christmas cheer as I'll be managing this year.... but still it was worth it for that memory.

I'm not a fan of Christmas but have decided the best way to make the best of it is to embrace a few traditions and deal with them. Yes to having a tree ... It's really a small thing to do and could become the centre of memories later.

its fun too put up, but sux to take down. Probably why some people leave it up until the end of January, or at least we did before hahahaha
