I'd LOVE to see The Darkness!! they were just in Melbourne but I couldn't make it. The best band I've ever seen was Queen.

They are really amazing, great entertainers and Justin's voice is remarkable!

I've been to a few good shows over the years, the most memorable are:

Bruce Springsteen - 2014
AC/DC - 2015
Motley Crue/Alice Cooper - 2015
Blues N Roots - Various Years
Tommy Emmanuel - 1990's (Pockets nightclub if anyone remembers)
Buddy Guy - 2006
Just to name a few
 
I've not been to many, but I can say that Linkin Park put on a good show.

Not sure if this counts but there was a night about 7 years ago that I'd managed to be let out of the house to go out with a friend, and we managed to hit a club on the same night one of my favourite DJ's were playing.... DJ Neo & Blutonium Boy.... That night was amazing.

But the best one was Glastonbury 2011 with U2 Coldplay Beyoncé

My wife and I went to see Judas Priest in the dark ages They were brilliant
But on a cutesy note The boys first school concert is way up there too
 
Seen so many over the years but Ozzy was awesome with black sabbath last tour!!!

Paul Kelly never fails either he's a real pro.
 
Not my cup of tea at all Phoebe but I'm sure she would have put on one hell of a show.
 
Have been fortunate (and old enough) to have seen so many great bands when they were in their pomp in the 70s and 80s - ACDC, U2, Aerosmith, Springsteen, the Clash, Rollings Stones, Cold Chisel and others. Regrettably these bands and many others like them on the cynical nostalgia Tours are a very pale imitation of their former glory...apologies to our clearly avid Sabbath fans! Quite sad for me to see once great bands reduced to a stale parody of themselves.

Give me a hungry, passionate, angry young muso over an ageing arthritic rocker any day of the week! In that vein the most visceral performance I think I ever saw was a young Peter Garret out front of Midnight Oil at the Coogee Bay Hotel in 1981. This was when he had political credibility! It was also when bands actually played live regularly, ....those were the days when you could see great live music all the time.
 
I suppose you're right to a degree Parsival! Except for Sabbath hehe :D:D sometimes I wish grew up in the 70s. Seems like it would've been such a happier carefree time compared to the joke of a world we live in now. So Parsival, out of the bands you've mentioned, which was the most memorable? x
 
Not right or wrong...just my opinion Ms Pepper.
Really hard to nail down...so many great gigs but I am always more attracted to smaller venues where the performer/s can relate more directly to the punters. So many of the bands I mentioned play/played the bigger venues.

So...to get off the fence...Australian band would have to be the early 80s Oils in a small venue per my earlier post. International band would be the Clash in London in 1981 with original line-up. Loved the politics of both these bands in their day. Passion and great music with a message, not some meaningless BS behind a few tired chords.

I didn't realise they were coming!! For me, I want to hear War Pigs, dark and ominous- ground breaking for its time.

Yes staying away from mosh too!! Was surprised that they opened with war pigs last time I expect the the set list will probably be similar to last tour.
Would be awesome if Ozzie played some of his later stuff too I would love to see "mr Crowley" and "crazy train"

Would be cool! They won't play those though. They weren't written by Mr Iommi
 
There was a local band in Perth called "Jupiterian Vibe", they had a good line up and a great sound. Fantastic lead singer. They broke up a few years ago, not sure where they all are now. Probably off doing the whole 9-5 grind I suppose. :(
 
Too many exquisite and amazing festivals and concerts to choose from,
But if had to choose,
There would definitely be two outstanding performances.

Not sure of the years,
But maybe someone else can enlighten,

Livid Festival at the RNA showgrounds in Brisbane, PULP,, and ( my favourite) Sonic Youth.

Another would be Pantera at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Definitely showed the youngn's how it is done.

An honourable mention,
To Faith no More and Marilyn Manson,( a highly misunderstood and very intelligent person)
 
Western Australian Symphony Orchestra and W.A.S.O chorus at the free Symphony in the city concert a couple of years ago. Their rendition of the Slaves Chorus from Verdi's Nabucco was amazing and the Triumphal March from "Aida" blew me away.

More recently I saw Proud Mary at the Charles and they played all the C.C.R. Classics with every note and riff exactly as per the original band. The gig was lapped up by a very enthusiastic mob of ageing rockers like yours truly.
