being a working girl and that factor dominating your life

you started working later on in life when a time came that quick cash to provide for your situation was what needed to be done, the solution becoming a lady of the night. kept secret for some time or it out in the open eventually someone always finds out because curiosity is a curse. as soon as Pandoras box is open your instantly perceived differently and the person you are disappears into thin air along with all their memories you shared with them. the fact that you had a civil job previously goes out the window, that you are a good mum to your children, that you rerspect yourself and dont sleep around, girls live in the fear of being outed because of the constant critisism and judgement, but you never know what happens in other peoples lifes, the person judging you on who they know you are now may have some dirty little secrets of there own...........

It is hard for you girls but if your friends treat you badly then they are not really friends. Do what is right for you and yours AND stuff the rest, you are entitled to be happy. Perhaps if you can, make some new friends. Chin up :D

Absolutely Cruiser. Anyhow Indy Fire nobody is really fit to judge you, nobody will ever understand why as well as yourself, and the reasons why you do what you do. They are innocently ignorant...

There are many professions that have far more dire consequences on innocent people than yours. Just think of the roof installation fiasco of a couple of years ago. How many houses burnt down? How many people burnt alive? The industrial refuse company who has the secret effluent duct....politicians destroying people's livelyhoods....the list goes on. Your profession is innocent and wonderful. You intend to exploit nobody.

In this day and age we may be in the time of technology and apparent "social" media, but the truth is it's even harder to make new friends because everyone is so closed to their own group that they rarely even acknowledge other people... and when other people do happen to come knocking they are either treated differently or treated lower than another fellow group member. With that, the fear of losing all or most of your friends makes you do almost anything to hide the truth, and it would obviously put an enormous amount of strain on the person emotionally as well.

I can't say I know what Indy or any other working girl feels when they are outed or have the fear of being outed but I can certainly respect that they are a human being no less or more than I and should be treated with respect in a manner that I would myself like to be treated.

In my eyes it's a job, you pay the bills, you buy the food you need to live and you support your family. Your work doesn't define who you are, You do. The world would be kidding itself if it said it would be a better place without working ladies, because it wouldn't be.

Respect to all the ladies. :shame:

Wise words...may I opine and add that everyone has the right to judge but few are able to judge right.

Sorry Polkam but i have to disagree, i do not believe anyone has the right to judge, they can have a viewpoint but not impose on others.
Hey cruiser I think we are saying the same thing with different words...this is what happens in my judgemental big head ! Not a statement of fact but merely the way I see it....
Judgement is instinctive to me, I will judge without having the intention of doing so. I just do.
Whether I am entitled to voice that judgement is subject to comprehensive consideration...the things beyond my comprehension are things I cannot judge accurately, and there is no way that I would voice such judgements as factual, some things are simply none of my business so although I may have judged them. I will say nothing, and there is always the chance of enlightenment, being told why my judgement is wrong and understanding why. I like to learn and am never begrudging in accepting and acknowledging my error of judgement, enlightenment is enlightening....haha.... people have been writing about judgement for a llooonnnggg lllllooooooohnnnnnnnggggggg time because it is endlessly fascinating and so very important.

Whether people are fit to judge is another thing. Most are not. Perhaps that is where the concept of a god came from, apart from the obvious need to explain physical creation. Man/ woman is not fit to judge. We are a flawed species. History paints the world as having always been in a mess...and considering man/womankind it is easy to understand why. Did the Garden of Eden ever exist? I don't think so personally.

Well if you are saying the same thing, I think it would have been quicker to say, "yup you are right Cruiser:

OK - I have come in late but this is my take on all this.

Firstly, dominique Lewis should be forced to change her avatar - it is a major distraction and I tend to lose my train of thought.

But more to the point - Indy Fire's comments are simply a reflection of the narrow minded society that we live in.

W/L's provide a great service and do an honest day's work.

Then on the other hand one gets politicians, who imho are are a bunch of lying cheating b@stards (As was confirmed by former Liberal minister Don Chipp).

And the amazing thing is that politicians are seen as shining beacons of light in our society whereas W/L's feel shunned by the broader society.

Go figure that one.
