I have never had bareback sexual intercourse and never would with a WL. In fact, I don't think I would with any woman unless we were in a monogamous relationship and both had been tested and cleared for each other's peace of mind.
However, I have received and given unprotected oral sex on several occasions. While the risk is supposed to be lower than intercourse, I am conscious it's still ever-present. I am careful in that when I succumb to temptation it is with (seemingly) 'quality' private ladies or at well-run brothels, on the basis these women are being tested regularly. I never ask a WL for an uncovered BJ: they always initiate it, I just don't object. Why? Because it feels so much better than a condom and I am weak (though I would like to try those new skin-like prototypes they're working on). This usually occurs interstate where the laws are less strict than the ACT. The unprotected DATY occurs much more frequently.
Afterwards, there is always that gnawing little doubt whether I may have pushed my luck once too often. So I get tested every 3-6 months for peace of mind. Unfortunately, they do not test for the most common STIs (HSV, HPV, EBV -- the last not really an STI but easily transmitted by kissing) here because they are so prevalent in the general population and they make an assumption that most people with multiple partners -- especially naughty ones like us, I suppose -- will have been exposed to them by now. They also don't seem to regard these diseases as being as serious as chlamydia or gonorrhoea. So it's theoretically possible I am carrying one or more of those bugs courtesy of a WL (if I didn't have them already), with neither of us displaying any obvious symptoms.
I am a man and I have my weaknesses, though hopefully my approach is not as reckless as the ones described by others.
