Private escort earning $10k a week reveals bank 'hostility': 'Funds frozen and loan denied'
A sex worker from Melbourne has lifted the lid on the difficulties those in the sex industry face when dealing with banks. Read more here.
I googled sex worker friendly banks and NAB says they accept sex workers .Also and is lgbtq friendly but sw seem to have problems with and and the big major four banks.I run a legitimate business and was threatened with having all my accounts frozen if I didn't attend the nearest branch with 100pts of ID and explain to the bank where my sources of income came from. Apparently this was legislation introduced my ScoMo. Digital ID and Digital Currency is going to be the end of freedom as we know it.
I had the unfortunate experience of having my accounts at my then bank, CBA put in question, due to my being an ‘Adult Entertainer’. This was in 2022 while I happened to be away on tour interstate. They gave me 10 days to provide them with a document outlining my work, income etc or face having my accounts closed. At the time, several other high profile face out Australian SWs had experienced the same issue with the same bank. They had their accounts closed even after providing the information that was asked for. The bank did not say outright that they were closing their accounts due to financial discrimination, but we all know that was the case. I took this happening to them/me as a sign to jump ship. I approached NAB at the recommendation of my accountant. I had to jump through a few hoops, but by the time I got home from my interstate tour, my new business banking and personal account cards had arrived at my home in Perth. NAB have been wonderful to deal with. Have had absolutely no issue with them. If anything my experience has been better than with CBA. I highly recommend NAB as an industry friendly bank.I googled sex worker friendly banks and NAB says they accept sex workers .Also and is lgbtq friendly but sw seem to have problems with and and the big major four banks.
