APPRECIATION POST

Just sitting at home on a Friday night, in my house with a glass of wine. Listening to the radio and and an Ad comes on about the Salvation Army Christmas appeal. It made me think how many people are struggling, not only at Christmas time but every day. When I came to Langtrees I was making $68k a year at my day job. Working at Langtrees on the side has allowed me to provide a life for my kids, take care of the older members of my family when they need it, and even allowing for my kids to attend one of Perths top tier private schools. I think life gets so busy we forget to stop and be grateful for the things we have. If I didn’t have Langtrees as a second income, I would be struggling big time. I’m so thankful to Mary-Anne & the staff at Langtrees to keeping the environment strict but pleasant. I love what I do and look forward to coming for every shift. Not to mention the clients who walk through the doors are awesome too! There’s never a dull moment, I get paid to have fun! Hope everyone is in the same boat and if you’re struggling or need anything reach out 💝💝💝

Nice words and thank you for sharing.

Congratulations on working two jobs and doing so well at Langtrees! It's really kind of you to think about those people who are struggling.

Christmas is far from merry for many families who can't afford to celebrate. A great way to help out is to pick up an extra gift while you're Christmas Shopping (must be brand new, not secondhand) and drop it off at Kmart to put under the Wishing Tree they have in-store. Gifts don't have to be bought at KMart, and they need to be unwrapped. For anyone in WA that supports women and families escaping domestic violence, the Salvation Army stores accept gifts, hampers and Christmas treats that they can drop in specifically to Women's Refuges.

Gratitude is a rare trait in people in the world today. It is no fault of their own in such an environment. I am grateful to read a post like this.

It is more valuable and provides more guidance to those who have the ability to reflect than you can imagine.

I knew you are a wonderful person when I met you.

Thank you.

Thank you, @Francesca_LT, for sharing your feelings; I can relate. I remember the days when I longed for so much while being overwhelmed by debts. Working for Mrs Langtree was truly an answer to my prayers.

Jewish religion (Judaism) teaches if you donate it comes back to you. Donating and it coming back to you may be why more than half of the worlds billionaires are jewish yet less than 1% of the world's population is jewish.

I don't have any donation suggestions especially for christmas but some great one's that are heart moving have been mentioned in this thread.

You know what you read that, and it hits you like a mack truck just how versatile a woman and women are, and how giving/caring some women are, warm heart cold hands is mainly a term used for women, but you read that, and you think a woman can use this industry to supplement an income or lack there of, hopefully have some fun while inside the game, and have funds to do what you just said, most men do 40 hours a week and that's it money stops at 5pm Friday till 7am Monday, whereby depending on shifts a woman could make 5k a weekend or even more. Look at Onlyfans for another game for women.. well done @Francesca_LT.

As for charity I donate to Ovarian Cancer as a lady I knew well at a previous work place died form it, and as it's a silent killer of women, and how crippling it was on her I donate every year to it, we all have our charities, I gotta hand it Mary for her sign in smokers lounge re; Royal flying Doctor.. ❤️

St Vincent de Paul allied with many charities help everyone including the salvos even if we're a alien from outer space st Vinnie's would offer you a coffee and ask how can we help you.
So if you have any spare cash donate to st Vincent de paul.
There are many great charities. Fred Hollows Foundation, ending avoidable blindness. U.N. world food programme etc.

Yes Francesca!!
I have been feeling that gratitude for work and my life, Langtrees is my favorite place to be, not just in a work sense but my real actual place to be, it's been my savior.
BUT you just added another train of thought that wasn't present...
Ohers struggles, so you have inspired me to do some giving back.
