That said, I feel lucky to be in this wonderful industry. I won’t lie, it’s saved me from some pretty grim financial situations, but some things are worth far more than money. There are people I’ve met and things I’ve learned that I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise.
I’ve had clients who haven’t touched me physically but have done so emotionally, and I’ll never forget them. I still stay in touch with some back in NZ, if they’re open to a little hello here and there whenever I’m thinking of them.
I’ve also had some of the most physically exhilarating experiences both in NZ and over here; so good that sometimes I wake up in a cold sweat before falling asleep again with pleasant thoughts of those past encounters. Some were flashes of brilliance, whereas some were consistently exciting and enticing. Variety is definitely the spice of life, but also some dishes bear revisiting whenever possible!
Lately, I’ve either been either reaching climax during client visits, or later on when I’m at home in bed (recounting the day I’ve had). I love it either way and appreciate those different experiences for different reasons. I’ve found that it’s all about clear communication and respect, and the rest falls into place.
All of that said, our experiences are as varied as our personalities and how we feel on any given day, in any given moment. We all have our reasons and reactions and all of them are valid at the very least, in my opinion.
