Miss Macey

ok so I didn't know whether to post this here or the WA board... But it's a bitch so it is here.

This evening I am sitting with my male partner minding our own business when he recieved an SMS from a WL advertising her services. The only place this number is published is on a particular swingers site. I checked with another male friend who has his number on the same site and he has also been sent this txt (he is actually attached and listed as such needless to say his gf wasn't impressed LOL).

Is it just me or is wrong and downright rude of this woman to be advertising her services in such a way ??!!??

Well i'm no lawyer or law enforcer... and laws do vary from State to Stae.... But, unless I am wrong Solicitation is illegal..... in which case this girl is on the wrong side of the Law, if she sends random emails to potential clients offering sexual services... report her!

Now that is scary, particularly if the 'phone in question is a work one and may be used by other people. I think most punters would rate discretion as the single most valuable attribute for a W.L.

Well i figure people wouldnt list their work mobile number on a swingers site... but regardless it just caught me by surprise and disgust!!!

I am wondering whether or not the site in question should be notified about numbers on their site being targeted for solicitation.

As for the solicitation laws... when we are in house and 'dressed for work' we have to be super careful not to walk out of the building without robes etc on... why they hell would you risk sending texts to random people!!! Surely it is nuts... perhaps its a set up ::)

hi yes its totally wrong unless you have given an agency ect permission to do that but i very much doubt you would do that if you had a partener to send you emails or texts about new girls which is offered by some...i had a very rude untimed call from a girl in a very well established inhouse which i never ever gave my nmb to any girl but she did get to ring me and i know it was given to her by the receptionist.i did ring the manager and told her i wasnt happy my nmb was given to this girl or anybody else.she didnt understand how she got my nmb but i should of told her and maybe she would of got the justice she deserved as she caused me alot of problems in the end as i only saw the same girl and i do believe she was even jelous of her and told her something i never ever said

This type of advertising is not acceptable, however we all need to be more than cautious as to what we list on any site, especially dating & adult listings as most of it can become available through time on Google or yahoo to mention a few. I think it is best to keep mobile numbers & private email addresses just that ….private & give them out to those you wish personally.

If this sort of thing becomes more common, it'll be worth getting an easily replaced pre-paid SIM just for giving out to "untrusted" people, and keep your primary mobile number just for close friends. Personally I already do that with email addresses.

It could be a message where if you reply you are hit with a large fee.

I have a spare SIM myself for this purpose, get nothing but junk mail.

Yeah something you definitely don't need if your a married guy. Cause it's rude and a very desperate avenue to get clients.

Be interesting to know if it was from a private W/L or a agency using Mobile numbers. Either way it just should not happen.:police:

Actually a similar thing happened to my parents when they joined a new church.

It was a couple of years ago, but they received letters from someone else at the church advertising their business, using the notion "We are in the same church together, so you should use our services.", (Mechanical services that is).

I did ask them how these people got their address, but it went no further - it's pretty rude though.

P.S. I believe it is illegal to proposition for sex work in W.A.

Ha.... so if u join a sex site u are clearly looking for a WL.... off to join all the sex sites now lol

Sure there are some unhappy wives out there if this is happening

first of all, you can call the police about solicitation, you do not have to tell the police that you have put your number on a swingers site, because it does not matter what web site it was, it is well known that some (dodgy) web sites make money from giving away personal details, and the police will not look into the web site, rather into the solicitation thing.

And when it comes to web sites, i know what goes on because I’m a certified IT engineer, the general rule is to never trust a web site unless it is known to be reputable. I have seen people get ripped off with mobile bills for trying out an innocent mobile phone game, and since it was legal in the country where the web site was located (on the bottom, there was a small link referring you to a very long legal document that says you may be charged somewhere), there was nothing they could do except cancel their credit cards. though usually after a long overseas call it was possible to cancel their "membership" through the billing company. your information is not safe on a web site unless it is a reputable web site.

i would never go back to that web site, and always make sure that the web site is set up with contact information in australia, has an ABN associated with it, and so on. otherwise just don't give any personal details. keep yourself safe and you will be okay just like with sex...

i just noticed that this web site has no contact info or legal info, but it's well known which is just as good in terms of being trust worthy

Like those things they have in the newspaper?

Well, there are laws in some states where you're not allowed to do that. Maybe track the caller if it's illegal and turn it in to the polivce?

SMS advertisers are in Breach of the Australian Communication and Media Spam laws. They can be reported via the ACMA website, and they WILL be fined.

Imagine if the guy visited the girl without his wife knowing, wow that would be interesting. Won't like to be in his shoes.

I had an experience with a visiting WL from Queensland. She sent me two messages when she was back in town. She wasn't that good in the first place but her pushyness definately put her off my 'to see' list. I ended up ringing her and asking for no more contact. Thankfully not a peep since.

I think it's wrong. And it begs the question where is she getting these numbers? I would not be impressed with the website at all!

This is like cold-calling - just like the call centres call you at odd times to solicit business.....what a shame - no respect=ethics

Lol yes thats a bit wrong!!

You should have booked her to a fake address as revenge :P

I think it's very inappropriate - it's cold calling which most people don't like.

I am a WL and I think that this is WRONG !!!

A number of my clients have told me horror stories of getting text and calls from WL's.
Some have no scruples - unfortunately and that gives us all a bad reputation.

I under no circumstances will I call a client unless I have been asked to call.
