It's very concerning they took your wallet, are you 100% you lost it at Tangs? Pretty low behaviour to take someones wallet when they are in a vulnerable position such as being naked on a massage table. If somebody did it they must have been very desperate for cash. I've also had a bad run in at Tangs but mainly just from being upcharged with silly fees and short changed on the massage time.
I’ve always been cautious with my keys and wallet when at any establishment, particularly when in the shower. I try to never let them out of my sight but there are time you have no choice and that’s dangerous.
I take a backpack with me and put everything in that. I strongly doubt they bank on you not reporting it.
Well you don't leave it on the front seat in plain view do you. Hide it somewhere prior to arriving. Or leave it at home. If there is nothing on display with a quick peek they'll move on to the next car. They're not going to smash the window so they can spend the next 5 minutes ransacking the car in the hopes of finding your wallet with $50 and a Bunnings card in it. Come on mate it's not rocket science.
I think one can get fined for driving without a driver's license card on them. I was told they have 24 hours to present license at Police station if caught. Not too sure.
Of course they would spend 5 minutes ransacking it, that's how car breaks ins work, perhaps you live in a nice neighbourhood and haven't experienced it. I'm close to the city and there's a car on my street broken into just about every week.
In some places I've heard one just leaves their car unlocked so their window doesn't get smashed all the time.
