Last few weeks have seen more vehicles locally on the side of the road with flat tyres . Have stopped to assist a couple of times only to find the spare is missing or flat . If you have a car probably a good idea to check that your spare is inflated. You have a jack that works . There is definitely something getting dropped on the roads at the moment . Anyway safe travels to all ..

Mates Dad reckons there was conspiracy deal with the tyre companies and the government. Mates Dad reckons they resealed the road so you had to drive over resealed roads to wear out your tyres. I mention this as sounds like things dropped on roads is perhaps conspiracy.

Are the tyres low on wear, need replacing etc, due to cost of living? as low tread wear means more flats. If there is space for a spare tyre and its missing that car is actually illegal on the road, 1st thing you check on a drive especially a long country one is the spare Tyre condition and its pressure as per tyre placard ..

No
I done Perth to Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra over 20 plus times each way and not one flat...
Have a friend who works for tyre sales and repairs and can confirm that there is a family of non Catholic religion tennis players that are throwing objects on roads deliberately damaging tyres as our tennis playing prime minister is from a non Catholic religion he likes to cover these things up.

A timely post @Obbie, but I believe as well as checking your costs tyre is in good order, you need to know how to change your tyre.

I’m holidaying down South at the moment and have just stopped to help a French family in a hire car change their tyre. They honestly didn’t have a clue. In a time wee we have RAC and other breakdown, 24hr services, you need to know the very basics. If this family were on a remote road things could have ended very differently.

The quality of tyres on some cheaper new cars is often questionable.

A friends daughter, had a set replaced prior to accepting delivery of the vehicle.

This only happened because he was a senior inspector at licensing and suggested the whole shipment may need to be inspected.
