I am familiar with this as a few years ago a good friend of mine from India celebrated this here in Australia. We spent the day cooking and she made this yummy drink from mango and yogurt. We decorated the ground with this bright coloured chalk like power in the shape of flowers

Diwali is a festival of lights that is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs. The celebration lasts five days, or six in some parts of India, and is held during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika.

Bombs. Atom bombs, Sutli bombs, and even a chain or string of a thousand crackers... Sparklers are examples. Anar, chakri, and other pyrotechnics.
