I have been a member of this other forum for a while and I know they had an upheaval in the moderating team plus an "upgrade" of their server and software which went a bit haywire.m

I thought things had settled down but for at least the last week I have been unable to log on and keep getting an error message. Today there is a message on the site saying that the board is offline for an unspecified time while tech support tries to fix it.

I wonder if this is the end?

I gave up on FIA, I've registered since before I came to AUS but can't edit my profile/add pics/avatar etc. Emailed them few times till today no response..poor service can't be bothered!

Well, I logged on there today and all is well again. With the recent departures of mods they no longer have an in-house tech and have to wait on outside tech supprt when things go pear-shaped. This and several other issues are being looked at and the hope is that all will be well in time.

I guess it all wil work out over time. I wasn't able to send a private message a few days ago....tried it 3 times......don't know what happened to message one and two but number three came through.....finally. So what do you do?????? sign off and try again a day later or so....that's my way to deal with it and so far it worked.

The community spirit has gone completely from FIA...

They are moving hosts is what I have heard, due to inadequate support from previous hosting.

Also DJ was caught up in the QLD flood situation with his place of employment being flooded.

Still down today although there is a temporary page of sorts which pops up when you enter the u.r.l.

From what I have been told, FIA is permanently closed, the owner has moved onto other things in life, there was talk of selling it at some point, but I believe even thats gone by the wayside.

So I would definately say that it wont be back in the former incarnation anytime soon, if ever.
