Do you believe in any of the Conspiracy Theories?

Some floating around include 9/11 was orchestrated by the US Government & Apollo 11 Moon Landings were faked by NASA. If you do a google search you will come up some even wacky ones.

How about Demon and Saige or Alexandra Silk are one in the same person? lol :laughing4

I like a good conspiracy theory, I use them as a good brain exercise to think laterally.

The most pervasive one that I can think of off the top of my head is the "putting drugs in the water supply to keep the population calm". It started around the time the governments started adding fluoride to the water supply to help decrease dental problems. Though theorists have been claiming recently that the governments have been adding lithium salts for their calming properties.

Of course, you also have the just plain silly conspiracies. As you mentioned 9/11, at one end you have the plausible-sounding though highly unlikely "a few key members of the US government allowed it to happen" which gets lumped together with the "they used fake holographic aircraft and lasers to bring down the buildings" crackpots.

I believe the moon landing one to be honest. The technology was ahead of our time, the photography was too good quality, the flag was flapping in the wind, have been unable to repeat it since despite access to the neccessary technology.

That's probably about the only one i believe though.

I was doing some reading the other day about Pearl Harbor. Theres a theory on that about the US Gov / officials being pre-aware is was going to occur but letting it happen so that they could ethically enter the war - since japan struck first. Sounds a bit far fetched.

Another one of my conspiracies is that neither Farm Boy or H2 are actually farmers! I'd imagine it would be tough going as a farmer / property owner with a never ending stream of work to be done but both seem to be on here a lot :D

Lol! Good one! Do they even have broadband acess out there. Cant b dialup otherwise they could only post once a year lol

Winston Churchill once said "Don't believe in a conspiracy when incompetence is a perfectly good explanation."

Sept 11, I believe that US knew something was going to happen, but believed it would be on a US asset somewhere in Africa or Asia (as had happened several times in the 1990s), thus justifying the war in Iraq which was in the GW Bush's election material from 2000.

But due to incompetence they did not even imagine it could be on US soil. So, the response was "Oh fuck".

Incompetence, not conspiracy.

If these conspiritors are so damn good as to beat every possible means of detection in the commision of there crimes or cover ups, and later forensic study By media, govt or others
Then there conspiracy will never see the light of day in the first place
so no-one will hear of it. So no conspiricy theory can come out except by WR3Xr's tinfoil hat brigade

1) in the absence of technology the amoiunt of money and time that was spent on preperation and trials is staggering
8 years later have a look at what they did with the voyager probe if you want to see something amazing without much technology
2) they used medium format cameras -not box brownies these cameras will still run rings around the most expensive DSLR for image quality. the astronoughts trained extensivly in their use, dont forget at the end of the day the photography was the money shot
3) yes it has - even mythbusters was easily able to replicate it as have other efforts

WINDHOEK — A large metallic ball fell out of the sky on a remote grassland in Namibia, prompting baffled authorities to contact NASA and the European space agency.
The hollow ball with a circumference of 1.1 metres (43 inches) was found near a village in the north of the country some 750 kilometres (480 miles) from the capital Windhoek, according to police forensics director Paul Ludik.
Locals had heard several small explosions a few days beforehand, he said.
With a diameter of 35 centimetres (14 inches), the ball has a rough surface and appears to consist of "two halves welded together".
It was made of a "metal alloy known to man" and weighed six kilogrammes (13 pounds), said Ludik.
It was found 18 metres from its landing spot, a hole 33 centimetres deep and 3.8 meters wide.
Several such balls have dropped in southern Africa, Australia and Latin America in the past twenty years, authorities found in an Internet search.
The sphere was discovered mid-November, but authorities first did tests before announcing the find.
Police deputy inspector general Vilho Hifindaka concluded the sphere did not pose any danger.
"It is not an explosive device, but rather hollow, but we had to investigate all this first," he said.
