A post of a practical nature... Designed to jog our memory & that of Maryanne K's...
Things we need to have at head office...

Weighing Scales
- of the kg kind... To help all us escorts with our very very very full suit cases filled with local shopping (after the wardrobe rearrangement Maryanne K facilitates) can still be checked in at the terminal without being hit with excess baggage...

-- note to girls.... Depending on the airline, It's $15-$20 an extra kilo for over weight but only $45 to check in an extra bag... Worth buying the lovely new suitcase I think (strandbags CBD near Coles) ;-)

Isn't that a lil bit wrong when the lady weighs lets say 70kg and are allowed 20 kg baggage but a `120 kg fatty can still carry the same amount of luggage for the same price but if the lighter passenger goes over the limit she gets charged
Isn't it about time airline tickets are charged per combined passenger and baggage weights per ticket
food for thought

Sparky! Ouch! That would be highly discriminatory and embarrassing.
I would be more inclined to charge the ones who snore, pass wind, talk incessantly (but I listen attentively in case they are as nervous about flying as I am) and the ones who have bad BO, some do all of the above and talk whilst snoring . Then the profits could go towards lowering baggage prices. It's a win win.

Why is it discriminatory when its all weight just distributed differently

they say the costs are because of extra fuel used to carry the extra weight
They could offer frequent flyer points with weight watchers memberships Jenny Craig vouchers

Sparky, no :( Because no matter the weight they are just as human as everyone else. A lot of people have medical conditions, depression etc. Again it would be extremely embarrassing. It just wouldn't be the right thing to do.

They just don't get to carry as much luggage that's fair

Anorexics could sell baggage space too :)

Bulimics could make room for extra hand luggage

A little off topic but I'm scared to make it it's own thread as it could be very controversial and spin out of control quickly..

Tall people also generally weigh more than short people. So is it your wish to further penalise tall people simply
They already pay more for clothing, food, cars, even special house designs.
When it comes to flying many then pay for premium economy to fly with only the same level of comfort that smaller people receive in cattle class.
Therefore tall people probably contribute more to a nation's economy than short. Hmm... that's food for thought. Though, with a short spouse, the 'family' size comes back to average.

best thing for baggage weighing is a fish weigh thingy... will set one up downstairs at HQ. also a good thing for girls to carry with their luggage too, they don't weigh much eh.
