Age gap relationships

I'm curious to get peoples thoughts and experiences about age gap relationships. In an age when it's acceptable to identify as a refrigerator and 'non binary' is cool why is it age gap relationships are still frowned on? Let me be clear, I don't condone predatory behaviour in the age gap debate. I'm referring to an emotionally mature woman (25+ years) and an older man (twice her age as a guide) My last 3 relationships have been with woman half my age and there are always judgmental disapproving stares on social outings etc. What are your perspectives?

When I meet my late husband. I was 18 & he was 32. We were together for 25 years.
One of my daughter's partners is the same age as me. So a 19 year age gap
Age is just a number

The woke have mad non-binary cool
Age gap has not been part of the agenda yet

Sadly you're right Monique. In many cultures it's the norm but for some reason 'western' society views it as taboo. I'm sure it will get legitimacy/acceptance one day. Perhaps not in my lifetime though! Thanks for sharing :)

I feel Australia has become a bit more open due to the culture and religions we have
I think the main issue is children. Children have been taken as brides
As a society, we need to pull the moral compass and draw the line. Less developed countries, and war-torn ones. The poverty is so horrific, that families are selling their daughters so they can eat. India & Afghanistan first come to mind. Parts of Africa too
It's happening in Australia. within the muslin community.

The last relationship I was in I was 21 years older than my fiancé another earlier one I had a SB 20 odd years younger.
Yes I did experience some disdain from most family and public along with the fact she was Asian.
On a liveability side some events we when out to as a couple I struggled to keep up with her stamina.
I look much younger than my age but feel beyond my years. It’s not so much my age but the mileage on my body. I’ve led a hard labour life.

It's deplorable conduct anywhere, anytime to compromise the safety and wellbeing of children. I understand that in some places poverty is the driver for hellish decisions parents are forced to make. The world is neither just or fair to allow the few to have so much and the many to have so little.

Sounds like a life well lived, no point in taking a perfectly good body to the undertaker! But I get your point about keeping up. I've always encouraged my GF's to keep and grow their circle of friends so they can enjoy partying hard, I just deliver the coffee and panadol next morning :) It would be great if family focused on our happiness rather than their discomfort, after all we are here for a good time not a long time!!!

You nailed it there in that people should be thankful for one’s happiness over their own discomfort. Now they are repeatedly sorry to see me alone.

Small consolation for you unfortunately! I hope your next love is just around the corner with a supportive family to encourage it regardless of her age, race, height, weight and hair colour!!

Since divorced, my ladies have been 11 years younger, 8 years younger and 15 years younger. No bad looks cos I'm a good looking rooster.
Now got 10 years younger lady.
When I look at an old guy with a younger woman I just think "goodonya". It obviously has advantages for both of them.

It's the generation of stupidity. WOKE. Class of non bindery tree hugger,s and man hater's.
Yes sadly age gap discrimination is rife mainly due to grooming and pedos in the community who prey on younger girls.
It is a age old question.
Why is that dirty old man with that beautiful young girl. ??
Must be something wrong with her ??
Maybe he is a groomer. ??

I suppose there are many reasons and difficulties when it comes to protecting our daughters from those who prey and use them only to discard them as trash. Only to do the same thing to another young girl. .
But age gap has its benefits as well. Many young mature women date very old men for the fact that they are past it and hopefully they have a genorus Will arrangements.

Old women look for younger men who can keep up with them. And they don't complain about eating their pussy,s like their hubbies do.

Same here with the goodonya! I don't think there's anything wrong. In fact, for a man, it's better to have a younger woman. In many Asian cultures, it is frowned upon if the woman is older than the man and a younger bride (rather than same age) is sought.

I don’t understand this use of the word “WOKE” being used other than having woken up from a sleep. Anyone care to explain this new use? So many words being hijacked for new meanings. In the old days to say your feeling “GAY” meant you were happy.

I'm a firm believer in the half your age plus 7 rule. It was acceptable in Victorian times, clearly times have changed!

Simply means that someone "woke" is actively interested in and fully onboard "important" progressive and socialist societal issues as a political and personal ideology. So that might mean so called social justice and minority race ascension. The "woke" have no hesitation twisting history to their own ends and cancelling entities or people with opposing views to accommodate their ideology and beliefs.

This is usually those more left of centre left of politics (socialist/marxist), ie the Greens, some members of the ALP, BLM, extinction rebellion and other such organisations are "woke".

My understanding is that woke refers to a state of awareness (or ones perception of awareness) of well entrenched discriminatory beliefs and prejudices. Hence whilst I grew up with 3 possible sexual orientations of hetro, gay and bi, the woke amongst us believe that my belief's are descriminating against people who are non binary etc etc. It's a head f*ck to be honest.

First heard my cousin in NYC use the term and struggled to understand the new meaning since.

If it weren't for the fact that the woke minority are having a big influence it would be easily dismissed as a bunch of soft cocks whinging about how unfair life is!
Now that makes sense.👌

From what I gather it was originally a specific term used in AfroAmerican slang in reference to discrimination and prejudice specific to their race and issues. Seems to have been hijacked by social media users and politicians as a catch all word for everything and everybody they want to criticise.
