I previously enjoyed Cialis (tadalafil) at 10mg, principally for the long-term effects of taking a single dose, but a few years ago switched back to Viagra (sildenafil) at a 50mg dose.

There's a cost benefit too, with generic Viagra - Sildenafil Sandoz - costing only $19.99 for 12 x 100mg tabs ... this equates to less than 0.85c per 50mg dose.

By comparison, to get the best cost benefit from Cialis, a prescription for 4 x 20mg tabs will cost at least $113.00 ... this equates to near enough $14.00 per 10mg dose.

NOTE : these dosage amounts are based upon "on demand" usage ... if you were to seek medical advice for a regular daily dosage situation, these amounts would be regarded as excessive, e.g. I understand that a typical daily dose regime of Cialis would be only 2.5mg or perhaps 5.0mg at most.

As to Viagra's side effects, I understand these vary from person to person ... a common issue for me is a nasal reaction with slight stuffiness, but otherwise nothing else of which I am aware. This was also my reaction to Cialis, along with some facial flushing ... interestingly, given that one dose of Cialis would 'keep me going' for up to four days, I found I was better off foregoing sexual activity on the day of medication, and feeling much better the following day, I would enjoy whatever I could during the next few days thereafter.

Hypertension (high blood pressure) is something from which I've suffered the past twenty years, and it was actually the basis of my flagging sexual performance which led to my GP issuing me some Viagra and Cialis 'sample' packs ...

... perhaps I should add here that, if you can't exactly plan your timing for sexual activity, Cialis certainly gives you the confidence to play at any time within a certain two or three day window following ingestion of that little yellow tab !

I'd been told too that Viagra was about to, or had just come off, the patent list thingy, so very soon the cost will go down to the generic costs of about $20 instead of $100+ when heaps more companies will be producing generic versions.

There is another thread on Viagra and Cialis here: https://www.talkinsex.com/threads/viagra-needed.63431/page-2

I take 5mg Cialis daily for an enlarged prostate (BPH) on a prescription from a urologist.

In the USA daily doses of cialis is approved for BPH but in Australia it is not on the PBS unless you are a veteran so it is still very expensive.

Eli Lilly went to court in Australia to keep the patent running which has expired in other countries why it is so expensive here. Viagra is off patent which is why it is so much cheaper now.

With Cialis I used to get muscle aches and headaches but after taking it for a week they disappeared.

I get generic 90 20mg tablets for $190 so when I cut them into 5mg with a pill cutter it works out to around 50 cents per dose.

It helps with my prostate issues and also with erections.

As others have said with Cialis you don't have to plan as it stays in the system for a fair while.

The generics I use come from a reputable company in India and they work the same as genuine Cialis as I have taken both.

I use these guys and have had no issues with Customs bringing them in.

my doctor said there was no problem with hypertension (it was years ago)

viagra has been generic in chemists (with a prescription) for years.
cialis was still expensive last time i asked at the chemist (about a month ago), it is due to go generic.

Yes, sorry just re-read what I wrote.
Cialis is due to come off patent, had seen August 2020 mentioned, but may still be a bit later.

I have just had a look on the internet for credible information regarding the current state of play for ED drugs within Australia ... I found there's quite a few spurious international websites promoting generic ED drugs, but when you read the supposed professional text, it is often flawed in substance and grammar.

However, I did find this item dated 15 March 2019, which features on the 'dot com dot au' website for Medical Republic ... it mentions Eli Lilly's court actions to retain its Cialis patent in Australia ... and it's worth a read for those curious about drug comparisons and alternative medicines to rival Viagra and Cialis :

I suspect that cialis has come off patent. Just looked at Chemist warehouse and they are selling Cialis brand name 20mg for $113 for 4 tablets but also supply Tadalafil 20mg $19.99 for four tablets or $29.99 for 8. You still need a doctors prescription though.

That's good news hopefully the prices will come down even further in Australia with the extra competition.

Go see your GP for a prescription, the sooner the better. I have high blood pressure but have been using Levitra under prescription and it does me wonders! With Levitra you are ready for action just 20 minutes after taking it.

Have tried both cialis and viagra. Cialis worked wonders the first time I tried it but the headache I got with it(small dose or larger) was horrendous and panadol didnt work either. I found the headache was too much for me to continue using it. Viagra works well but the thing is not to eat too much beforehand as its not as effective and can cause bad reflux if you do. Some facial flushing which I didnt mind, as it seemed to be a good signal that it was working and working well. Havent tried Levitra yet and keen to hear other revews on that.

Half a Levitra works fine for me. Works in no more than 30 minutes with some facial flushing and a mild head ache sometime later. I actually prefer cialis as it lasts longer and seems to assit in quicker recovery for the next shot, but was more expensive last time I brought it.

I’ve been using occasionally over the past year and not noticed any major issues or side effects. I do 1/2 tablet at a time and this works very well for me and last for about 6 hours. I have mild hypertension as well but the GP wasn’t concerned when I asked for a trial and ongoing prescription.
