Its happening not only in Asian parlours though. I think the issue around current medicals is the different laws per state. Victoria is the only state I have worked in that you cannot begin work without one. In NSW, Qld and SA they are not required by that states laws therefore not required if you wish to work in that state. Qld may be different now since it's legalized.

Another aspect of the comment other than the natural, that worries me is when I hear about establishments that insist a lady sees a particular client or loses her job. I would "never" visit a place that had this rule and if I found out one had it, I'd stop going there. Personally I do not think it should matter what legislation is in place. Duty of care & common sense should govern the need for anyone who engages in casual encounters to have frequent checks.

It covered how to do a health check on clients, pictures and info on all STI's, how important it was to use a condom for everything. This book is now online on the Scarlet alliance website. I even got told to read the insert that comes in condom packets!
I think this needs to come back into all places of work as education can save a lot of 'mistakes'!
