Do you think that the sex industry such as 'sex services' should be made legal?? and if you do what are your thoughts of how it would function in the tax payers world???
Well, if I understand correctly all sex workers have to pay tax, yet it is from an illegal activity - how can that be right.
Then again I am not up to date with what is happening - weren't some laws changed in 2000 - and isn't some of the industry now "legal"
Anyway if it is still illegal - then they should charge drug pushers and other people who make money from illegal activities tax too.
From what I understand, they have the containment policy, meaning brothels are illegal but police let them operate as long as they follow legal business procedures. But when the police want to be arseholes, they are more than happy to bust brothels as promoting prostitution etc etc....
I dont see the illegality of the sex industry. Brothels provide a service like your local lawn-mowing man or beauty parlour. The people who work there choose to do so and are normal human beings like everyone else with families, mortgages and kids.
Yes, I agree wholeheartedly.
But I still don't understand how one government department can say - this is illegal - and the other ones can say - you earn money - where is my share.
The government likes to make out that the brothels are harmfull to society. In places like Amsterdam they legalised certain drugs and crime drops 40% in the first year. They legalised prostitution and now rapes are virtually non-existant.
Any establishment that allows people to freely express themselves with other willing participants is a great idea.
If we can have fun in a safe and controlled environment then there is no need to search for it elsewhere.
I always thought that like marajuana they kept it illegal because they made too much money off it..but that cant work for the sex industry as they havnt got there hands in any cookie jars? Im unsure why it has been left so long..to function without anyone making it legal..it is ridiculous. it is a huge business in wa and people want it recognised, so they are legit...the staff the sub contractors everyone involved would benefit from making it legal
