The Redditch business joined together with Madras Motors in India to create "Enfield India" in 1955 so that Madras could produce the 350 cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorbike under licence (now called Chennai). Enfield India purchased the tooling so they could produce components. By 1962, all components were produced in India.
