The Industry Quietest Month of the Year

Historically the first main day back in january is the start of the Industry quietest 30 days of the year.
Location and events happening in your city can make a slight difference.
Knowing this I was watching the langtrees.com traffic which i can view through our Live Help as it happens.
Today would have to be the quietest i have seen since we started a month ago. We usually have 7-15 people viewing langtrees at any one time, this morning the highest I have had at one time is 5 and probably only a average of 3 online at a time. Big change from two days ago when we had the magic number of 69 users viewing langtrees.com at one time.
Well i have planned and prepared for the slump in the market at this time. What have you done to maintain your turnover?
 
Start a thread you are welcome to advertise for your needs. Hope you find someone quickly hopefully you can teach how to uset the internet and then i will get a advertiser. LOL
 
you will find, as you are well aware that due to the recession that we are currently in, and that doesn't mean guys don't punt anymore, but we become more selective. Gone are those $500 plus per hour punt. we are now more into the $200-$350 category.
I still can't believe the number of ladies charging $500 plus at the moment, but if they have been well prepared and have worked hard and saved up enough $$, then there is no pressure for them to lower their prices. Good on them.
 
The one advantage I have got is that I also do a normal 38hr a week normal job where I start early in the mornings and are mostly finished by 12.30pm during the week. So the WL side of things for me is the icing on the cake and I don't have to rely totally on that income.

I must say I do enjoy the WL side of things more LOL..but for me I suppose my normal job maintains that balance in life..
 
The quiet has hit earlier this year. Tuesday was our quietest day on the website since we started, (down nearly 35% of traffic) Wednesday picked up to the standard traffic, but today is down again.Tomorrow our west advertising kicks in so hope to hold our figures over the quiet period.
I had a very interesting call from one of the ladies yesterday interested in advertising, she told me $150 a month was too steep for advertsing.
I explained she could have a FREE trial to 1000 page views to test the value of advertising and her reply was if she had a good response she would be locked in and forced to pay me thereafter.
I then stratched my head then said if the site achieved her 10 extra bookings per month at $2500 income would not $150 be a fair deal, she would be $2350better off. At this time she could not see the wisdom of this...today she rang and booked a GOLD POSITION which is $300 per month, and dosen't want the FREE trial. She has already dropped of the fee, then tells me she will make her profile over the weekend with her sisters help, after I offered to do it for her.
One rule I learnt years ago is to double my advertising in the quiet times to maintain a more consistent turnover.
Private Ladies that spend 10% of there expected turnover are more likely to achieve there expectations. An example is if you want to earn $5000 a week spend $500 per week on advertising and spread this around on as many mediums as possible.$300 weekly in the newspapers and $200 weekly on internet advertisng will give you approx 10 website profiles.
Once you have a strong regular clientelle you can reduce this to around $250 weekly, but build the consistency first.
You have to spend $$$ to make $$$ the first rule of business.

The old age saying goes money makes money,,, but also you have to be prepared to have a go as well.
 
I always found in the uk the worst month was march as jan was still busy but slacked off towards end of feb when credit card bills came in but it has been very on/ off (all year)since our goverment and their new polices decided we cant advertise in papers anymore except for a few that have ignored them . I also am a firm believer of ADVERTISE everywhere you can to pick up new clients wether you are a owner or private wl . But with the credit cruch as well most people i know have said it has been worse than normal.(I also work full time to)

but no, it's from the USA and it's about sex toys! Ah well, if this is the quietest month at least I won't get turned away at the door at 1am (which happened TWICE in December!)
