Well, I visited Swanbourne yesterday for the first time in quite a few years and it is definitely not as I remembered it. Despite the 40 degree plus heat there were fewer than 40 people there and, for the most part, they were of my vintage (ie a bit past 50) with the leathery skin and saggy bits that go with a lifetime of cooking oneself on beaches. No sign of the younger hotties or even the gay couples who used to be regulars there and even the kiosk is now closed.

Cottesloe was pretty much the same again - carparks were full but probably more people in the pubs than on the beach. I believe the great Aussie beachgoing tradition is on the way out - probably too many other more interesting things for young people to do these days.
 
Was @ Swanbourne on Sunday. Got so burnt!! I honestly find it painful to wear clothes!
I have found that what svengali said was true, its mostly older men. But I have met some younger guys there too, mostly Europeans who are just into chillin' in the nude :) And my girlfriends and I love going down there... so not all old men.

Problem is, one of my male friends told me about the old men and how they sit and watch you and wank off. I'm not against voyeurism but that is just plain disgusting and creepy. My friends and I have had lots of old guys perving, but this one guy was a little scary. He and his friend were sitting in front of us in the sand, some 15 metres away and he turned around to watch us. He kept coming up to us in the water and just staring at us! Worst still, he and his friend followed us on our way back to our car. Luckily, though we were able to shake them!

That sounds terrible. Some guys can just ruin everything. It might be a good idea to take one of your guy friends down with you next time. Those old buggers were probably happy just getting their rocks off watching, but you never know.
 
Sorry to hear that BD, some people can be creepy. It's hard not to have a bit of a perve at times, but it should at least attempt to be discreet! I would hope that you wouldn't let the experience completely turn you off. I think nude beaches are very liberating and think it would be great if more people tried it.
 
Dammit!!

Those type of guys get dirty old men a bad name. I perve but always keep my sunglasses on and do it discretely.
 
I've never had this problem at Warnbro, everyone seams pretty chilled out. You'll occasionally get a few young boys wandering past but that's as bad as I've seen.
 
I like going there & feeling the breeze whilst starkers in the water, what a feeling hey. Also like to sunbathe to remove tan lines near the dunes but not up in them.
