Social Media ban

Patheric laws and part of a global (Western) push for total surveillance and censorship. UK, Canada, Australia, EU. They are doing this to force adults into a digital ID to have full access to the internet. They don't care about our kids. Our eKaren is suggesting that adults shouldn't be able to even do a Google search without being ID'd.

In the UK they are pushing for all messaging services installed on your phone to scan all correspondance before encryption. I.e. they have an id attached to every message and scan and read them in clear text before they are sent and encrypted from your phone.

The kids will have false ID by December, "what ban" "A increase in Social media Sites by 200%
Yep. Trying to ban an age group who will have the most technology nouse of any age group to avoid the ban.

As Jryall said it's about the rest of us getting a digital ID. The concern is who will have access to the information and how secure it is

Nothing on the web is ever secure ... it will only be a matter of time before hackers get into secure payments and all our credit information will be fucked! No faith in governments holding accountability for big banks or companies as they are all in their pockets.

Its the best thing that could happen, it will force parents and kids to get back to nature 🤘
Yeah draconian censorship forced on us at gunpoint by governmemt without an election mandate is a great way to get children to spend more time outside. I don't think most Australians understand what is being done to this country by whom or why. It's not pretty, and the orders aren't coming from our parliament.

It's unenforceable and demonstrates how technically illiterate our so called e safety commissioner is. If she had consulted with a single person who understands how these things work we wouldn't be having this discussion.

They are willing try and balls it all up.

The social media ban is only worth the paper it is written on (🤔 well, if it is actually still written on paper)
There are no guidelines as to police it. The Socila media sites definitely have no interest in a ban and as already pointed out in theis thread, the kids will have already worked out a plan to get around it.
Whenever something is forbidden - the more attractive it gets.
I am not a fan of Socila Media and thinking online ID makes my skin crawl but even I have to admit that it will be only a question of time. It is all coming.
We have to learn to live with it in an as responsible way as possible. Ban for the kids under 16 sounds good but it is an illusion.
