Sarita, an innocent teenage girl who lives in a dinghy chawl of 1990s Bombay works as part-time prostitute. She seems oblivious to the grim reality of her job and focuses on the prospect of enjoying the car rides her rich customers offer when they pick her up. One day, three men pick her up in a car and try to make advances on her but more often than not the situation gets diffused with her charm. She is playful, fun loving and cheerful like any teenage girl and quite different from the stereotypical imagery of a sex-worker. I found this extremely sad to watch and so angry at the mother. Sadly this is a way of life or the only way out for many girls in less developed countries. It's the hope of a better better life from conditions they are stuck in

Gimme a break - much of the same thing happens here in Oz. That was a movie - this is real life!

Such a shame we didn't meet with kinder words. So honey give me a break :) In over 20 years as a sex worker in Australia I am very well aware of the truth of this industry in both Australia and overseas. At no time did I say it was not happening here and I given many of my friends are have come from less developed countries I am fully aware of the plight of young girls and women. As a woman and a mother myself I will always go on to bat & support women. Free choice of what they chose to do as a job.
I become a sex worker to save the family home because my late husband was an alcoholic so I do not need to be made aware of the truth of what happens in Australia.
