Mick fanning is one very Lucky guy,...... This would of been so scarey.

Mick's composure and quick acting in the face of a terrifying situation was nothing short of heroic and the rapid response of our water safety personnel was commendable — they are truly world class at what they do.

I've only ever seen sharks in the water with me once and that was the summer before last at scarb and all I saw was a couple of large fins about 50m away but there were plenty of splashing tourists between me and the Sharks so I wasn't worried!

Wow that's a huge fin in the photo though :o

The last time i went in the sea there were two fins popping up and i have not been back in since
They were probably dolphins and their porpoise for being there was to protect you should any actual sharks show up. (lame - but I still couldn't resist).

I did not stay long enough to find the poipose for them dolphin around me with me being potential shark bait. (Just so you do not feel lame on your own MrLittle)

That last photo has to be photoshopped (doesn't it??)

From some of the later comments in the media it seems Mick's bitie was curious rather than hungry and accidentally got snagged in his legrope while it was nosing around.

I would not want the job of cleaning his wetsuit after that effort, though:rolleyes:

SO i read yesterday that they left the surf photographer in the water and the poor guy had to swim back to sore because they forgot about him... poor guy
