What do you do to keep yourself occupied on a cool rainy night?

Do you spend it in the arms of a lover
Read a book
Spend time on the net or watching your favourite t.v show/movie?

I light the fire. The flames are way more interesting than whats on the idiot box. I might plug the guitar in aswell if I'm in the mood.

I do have a big bonfire at least once a year but I was just referring to my fireplace.

I miss having bonfires. But i also miss a fireplace, not sure what it is but the smokey smell of a fire is nice... add old bits of old pine cones and it has a nice fragrance

Surfing the net on a rainy night is always fun if you get the right Outcall...

A fire on a winters day is one of lifes simple pleasures That we must enjoy while we can I am sure it is another of the pleasures on the You cant do that Hit list
As for what to put on the fire I have never used pine cones xZaidax we use Mallee roots up here they are are brilliant
Nothing beats a Mallee root Just ask Mr O'mallee

Afraid you are right about that Happy.

If all fire-owners were as considerate as you and burned dry wood, mallee roots or coal we would be fine but the peasants burning anything they can are spoiling it for everyone. I used to live in a low-lying part of Perth and every still winter evening you could smell the smoke everywhere.

It won't be too long before some form of control is imposed on wood fires in the metro area.

Most of my wood is dry cut up old pallets that would be either Jarrah or pine. Once that's gone its a trip to the National Park up the road for some resupplies.
How'd you like that Mr and Mrs Wowser?

I've gamed like that with my Partner. I can admit to being a bit of a gamer >.<

Happy2 what is Mallee root? Is it fragrant or used for other purposes?

Svengali my family has a property in Moss Vale NSW it's relatively spaced apart from other properties and gets ridiculously cold, we collect the woodfire from the trees on the property that have been lopped for safety reasons (recycle :3) and the pinecones are abundant >.< The green ones i'd suggest for a dying fire if you like loud noises.... old game the kids in the area play they put a few in at random points and run... the sap pretty much boils and the green pinecones go bang :P

xZaidax I guess coming from the East you too have Mallee scrub Well the root or maybe its a burl of the mallee scrub is dried and it is a fragrant and very slow burning wood We are lucky to have an abundance of it up here

My avatar Euronymous from Mayhem, he knows all about fires especially arson.

Well they did burn hair And to those lucky enough to still have some Seem to treat the stupid dead stuff as a temple So yeah they did burn a church in their own way

Rammstein does all their own Pyrotechnics it's pretty cool ^.^

Thanks Contrarian i will have to look it up, i might have seen/used it before but not know the name :3
