My offsider just saw his phone fallout of his shirt pocket from the 5th floor of champion house in Gero down to the sidewalk below

I lost one into an auger once Didn't do it much good I must admit

Just wondered do any of my fellow forumites have had any unique phone deaths?

Yeah may not b as spectacular as some one else ...but i thought my phone would bounce ofthe floor like a tennis ball......it didnt

The old shirt pocket does it every time.

Dropped mine out at the dogbeach as the tide was coming in. didn't realise till reached the car, by which time it was too late as it was as the sun was setting.

Went back before sunrise next morning as the tide was then out so thought worth a lo0ok.

After just two minutes as the sun came up, found the phone, full of sand and battery terminal shorted out, but sim and sd card with addresses/photos etc all 100% ok.

Glad I went back (100k round trip) would hat for someone to have found it and accessed all the data private dataetc on the memory card.

some asshole stole it from my car, went back to my unit block in Armadale Melbourne, locked my car ran up two flights of stairs picked up what I forgot, went back to my car, sunglasses and Phone stolen... hmmmm in about 2 minutes...

It certainly doesn't take long. I had my iPod touch stolen out of my car almost same circumstances. Left it in front seat of car to run back to apartment, came out side window smashed. Must have picked it up, found it wasn't an iPhone because it was on the ground next to the car rather than proper stolen. But they must have thrown it down because it was broken.

As far as phones go. I had an old flip phone with a little button that "popped" it open. My mum borrowed it, then just wrenched it open rather than press the button. Took a little bit to get open the just went all the way, the hinge broke the clip broke. And as it was active flip it just permanently thought it was open so the battery died as it was always "on."

Yep then yo get hit up for insurance excess, you loose your car while it gets fixed etc etc etc.. pain in the butt then you need to take time off to go pick it up, hope its been fixed okay etc etc... its a pain.

i was at Shellys beach near Albany during Easter.
while battling a salmon i went in the water and forgot my phone was in my pocket.
pulled the phone out trying to take some happy snaps then noticed my phone wouldnt turn on.
tried every little trick to get it started but it died on me.
but luckily afew stuff is saved on the sd card.

Albany. I sent an employee, with company car and phone, to upgrade some hardware at the Albany branch. He wanted to take a friend and go fishing over the weekend and I said it that was ok. With 20/20 hindsight I should have said no. He called me on the weekend, first thing he did was to apologise for losing the company phone. Then proceeded to tell me that he and his friend were swept off the rocks - he managed to get back (many scars from deep scratches still evident on his body) but his friend was lost to the ocean; as if I gave a damn about the fookin phone!

ohhhh i hope he wasnt fishing at salmon holes off the rocks. that place (if fishing off the rocks) is dangerous :(

years ago on a traffic light.......checked the time on my phone -as my car didn't have an internal clock- and dropped it on the middle space between the seats only to reseal that I still had a cup of water sitting there in the middle of the middle section.......and guess what.......the phone went right in it .........bye bye phone:arghh:

Oh I saw a friend's iphone dropped less than half a metre onto the concrete floor and cracked the corner screen...that was epic. Had to replace the whole screen...

Years ago...accidentally dropped me reading glasses in the dunny...luckily the dunny was only filled with water and nothing else...still it took some courage to hide chicken little away and recover the glasses. Till this day, the said pair of glasses are still with me.

Went home with a lovely lady after a night out in the city and put my phone in the bottom drawer of the bedside as usual. A bottle of massage oil got knocked over and into that draw some how. Soaked right into the screen around the edges and ruined the internals. Lost her number :(

Dropped my first mobile phone in the toilet :(
Quite a few phones later and my newest phone I ran over with my 4wd on a dirt driveway. 18 months later here I am still typing away. All that's wrong with it is a pale patch in the middle when it's a dark screen. I swear by Otter Box. Best $90 I ever spent :)

I was a little drunk & started squawking at a bird on the footpath, it obviously decided I was a complete jackass and flew towards my face, prompting me to juggle my phone for about 5 seconds before dropping it directly on the screen. Not my shining moment.

This is going to sound so lame but I didn't feel my phone fall out I trod on it and it snapped in half and didn't have it insured I cried for days and it was Samsung note 3 :(:(:(

My neighbours wife had to come round to use my phone this morning
She spent all night frantically searching for hers
Her daughter called me go and collect her It seems she posted her phone to her in her birthday present parcel Sadly it did not survive

Was trying to find a certain place on google map. A friend of mine spotted it, got excited and proceeded to nudge/shook my arm. Phone slided off, headed down and slipped precisely through the grill of the drain. 10/10.

Mine wasn't the phone but my Note Book the cat knocked it off the top of the washing machine into a bucket of bleach and nappysan totally stuffed it :banghead:

I had my iPhone fall from my bed onto a carpet floor and broke the screen, easily fixed. But the fact my bed wasn't even a meter off the ground carpet floor and the screen still smashed, good old iPhones for ya

I've been lucky not to lose a phone (I think I've only had like .... four since 2001).

Having read these stories, many of which couldn't have been foreseen and took a fraction of a second, I have to ask everyone that's reading this thread - have you backed up your data recently? How much would you lose if your phone was destroyed right now? :/ Food for thought...

Up ended my canoe last week My phone is out there somewhere

:eek::(:sorry:

Sorry Amanda But I have to show off when possible as I have so little going for me
As for phones I cracked the glass on my phone the other day
Any bets on the price to replace the glass on a Samsung Galaxy ?

I will say it was cheaper to indenture myself to a Telco and receive a phone from them instead

Dropped Pepsi all over it and it stopped. Then I went out and bought a new one, but when the Pepsi dried on the old one, it came back to life again
