Just wondering how WL's hear story after story of how newly separated men are losing their assets, house, visits to children? Basically Family Law Court Hell.

Love to hear the ladies viewpoints as well as from other men going through this.

The Justice System is not just, after all the stories that we've heard.

That is absolutely true. Even if they do not leave you are still required to pay indirectly for sex.

Had no intention of getting married a second time. p4p is the best solution, in that at least you both know what the deal is.

Is India's statistic of 1% a successful one? Or is it just because they 'grin and bear it?' They have many family obligations but Australians like their free will choices.

Do people in Australia even know why they get married? Is it just a romantic idea of a wedding day so 'bridezilla' can experience a $60,000 wedding along with plastic surgery just for the photos?

I never congratulate any elderly couples that have been married for 50yrs plus.
It's all a farce & a load of fricken bull.
One of them has suffered quietly but they won't admit to it.

The secret to a long marriage is Unimaginative, Numbness without Scope or Aspirations.
No one can eat the same food or watch the same show for that long without seeking alternatives somewhere along the way. It's all bull.

Marriage licenses should have had an expiry time of say, every 7 years and be renewed only if both undergo a Psychological assessment.
If there are children involved then a reasonable support payment should be given to the parent who ends up with the children.
It's a little difficult for the payee but the money drain would certainly make you think about making the same mistake again and having more children with another partner.As if we need more children on this Planet right now.

The people in third world countries, who never heard of Condoms, are supplying enough kids so that we, (in the lucky country) never have to worry about a shortage of things to feel sorry for.
I reckon some play a numbers game, if one kid dies, it's ok they got plenty more.

I totally agree Onwithit. It's unnatural.

I'm wondering why 20 year olds are still getting married. They go head on into it, not even knowing they'll get bored in time.

When people grow bored,they think it's a shock. Yet we dine out, enjoy a variety of food, and sex is similar. So they don't comprehend that the other party is bored or able to acknowledge that they are bored, or if they feel bored, they feel so bad about it.

There's different angles to look at this and nothing wrong with disagreeing.

The angle Onwithit was coming from was the facade that people present, especially if they have been married a long time. They celebrate their anniversaries, but deep down they have sexual differences. Of course they love eachother. In fact:

love is devotion
sex is an expression of love as well as a recreational activity

Yes many couples can devote themselves to eachother (or be co-dependent on one another) and stay together many years.

But an escort knows that the married man has visited her frequently for sex. But he goes and sleeps next to his wife who he loves. A visit to an escort just helps him stay with his wife.

Even engaged men love their fiance but visit escorts.

I'm sorry but that just sounds like the bitter words of someone burnt by failed relationships (may not be true but how it comes across).

I was married at 21 to my 19yr old love of my life and 11 years later we are still very happy with each other and the life we have created together. It's about being open with each other and trying new things to keep the fire alive and exciting not just comfortable. As well as being compatible with each other and the way you choose to live your lives together effects one's marriage.

Just because a huge number of marriages go through infedility by one or both parties, doesn't mean they don't love their partner any less, just means they are following the laws of nature that we aren't made to be monogomous and they aren't open about their desires. I am sure there are plenty of 50+ year marriages that are based on companionship only, but if that is what makes them happy together who is anyone to tell them their marriage is a sham? Marriage is not solely based on sex and anyone who thinks it is, is shallow. It may be a big factor, but it is not every thing...especially once both parties are to an age where sex may not even be achievable.

Marriiage? Something eveyone should try once. At least then you have some idea of what it is like. I do not say to others not to do it. You never know, you may be lucky, and enjoy it.
