After what has been a tremulous year so far, Naughty Thoughts and I are off for a few days in a couple of weeks.

We are starting our break with a Matt Wright Camping Safari which includes an absolutely amazing helicopter ride.

We are following it up with a few days in Kakadu at the Mercure Crocodile Hotel. We have a Sunset Boat cruise booked and are also intending on visiting a few of the sites including the legendary Cahills Crossing 🐊🐊🐊(Below photos of the crossing for reference).

I will be sure to add photos of our adventures and keep you all up-to-date with what is a beautiful place here in the Top End 😎🌴🌺🐊

Have any of you been to Kakadu? What were your best experiences there and what do you recommend we definitely do?

11 days and counting. I am excited. πŸ€—πŸ€ͺ

It will be a nice break before a member of my family has serious knee surgery. Oh what a year!

I've heard it equals Uluru, Kings Canyon, The Olgas, McDonnell Ranges, Mataranka Thermals, Katherine Gorge and Litchfield (which we've already been to all),,,in it's own awesome NT beauty.....

You will enjoy it - When I lived in Darwin I managed to visit Kakadu twice - once in the dry season and once in the wet season. Extremely different but breathtaking scenery nonetheless on each visit.

That's an extra bonus about living here. The beauty and warm sunny days of the Territory in the dry and then the awesomeness of mother natures Wet Season Magic including the storms ❀ πŸ˜ŽπŸŒžπŸŒΊπŸŒ΄β›ˆ

Yes - I miss sitting at Stokes Hill Wharf having Fish & Chips and a couple of beers watching the lightening storms. ⚑⚑⚑

After arriving and settling in we went on a lovely ride on the lagoon. First on this big cruser. 20200928_142516_1601415636459.jpg 20200928_145311.jpg 20200928_151500.jpg

Then on the AirBoat. I tried to up load video but the wifi is waaaaay to slow here. I will try when we are home.

This 1st one was one mean angry croc.

Where as Underbite was a little less aggressive.
All these crocs are rescues.
Underbite would not survive in the wild but could still do a lot of damage with jaw strength.

Dinner was amazing on the deck. Roast lamb, barramundi, a beetroot with walnut and feta salad, a mango salad as well. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of dinner as it was jumped into so fast.

Followed by a smore' for dessert around the fire.

Maguk Waterfall at Kakadu and the Walking Trail to get there, was beautiful! Admittedly the road in was a little bumpy. Our car got a wee tad dirty too but that's part of the fun! Screenshot_20201001-082615_Gallery.jpg
