Yes I have a site that is similar but at the same time totally different when the new version is complete and do not see the sites as competetors.
Serena gives a information and support service to all the industry and deserves this award, so needs your votes.
Please post and let us know that Perth will take home the award.

With all respect those awards are the biggest crock of shite, its who has the most traffic and markets the awards best who wins, nothing to do with the quality of the business.

Having said all that I wish you luck.
 
Yes I agree, its who you know if you win and if you are prepared to travel. Regardless its Serena & Tina's first year and they would have to be in the top three of the votes to get the award and it would make all the energy feel a little worth while.

I agree with you jason, it's not about the quality etc, its about how many people you can get to hit on the links which helps you win an award, which is a bit harsh, but in a way it's also good for morale to feel like you've achieved something..lol
As Maryanne said, what we've done as amateurs in the past 6 months is absolutely amazing, I even get awed by it and how quick the site grew. It still awes me.. lol
So having our name up in lights isn't going to be a negative... so will take anything that comes our way.. yihaaaa.

Thats a probablilty also that many have voted, just didnt feel the need to post they had which is cool as well. But if you do decide to post that's great and many thanks.. it keeps it in the newcomers eyes to do the same as well.

Serena you aren't quite correct on the way the comp is drawn to my understanding.
As they do not audit and publish the actual votes, and also because it happened to me and others I have spoken with over the years, they are sometimes pre chosen.
Think of the traffic they get from the websites after the vote. Also because they want the awards to be Australian wide any one that indicates with a good product, that is from another state is encouraged with a award. The year I was up for the Hall of Fame I think it was, I said when rung that it was a long way to go and expensive just because I was nominated.
Been told in advance that you have won it takes all the fun out of winning it, and I have had three other winners over the years tell me the same thing.This is the reason I have never let the thing go to Kalgoorlie, mind you it will have to now, I am only packing my real treasures for storage. Now that I am playing Gypsy I have to travel Light.
Not knocking it totally, its a good night out and good networking, but I don't want to ever win another award unless it is voted by my peers, real people like they judge a beauty show.
The idea is good and I want you to go because WA should have at least have one sort of industry awards night a year, and you would be a perfect person to organise something of the sort in a year or so with the good contacts you are making.
Just remember if you ever run with the idea keep it simple and name your awards correctly. The Hall of Fame for our industry is a silly title.Someone Who Has made a Difference Year Award would mean more to me.
It mighted even be run by the same people any more, but I have scratched their back a few times over the years and when I think back, it seems a very one sided relationship.
 
I would vote if I felt the awards had any real meaning to them. The last couple of years it (by it I specifically mean the sole operator award) has been decided by who can get the most people to vote for her. One even went as far as to go on a non-industry related forum and ask the members there to vote for her. To me that isn't how it should to done.

As a past winner of the award for best escort (twice - the only escort to have won it more than once), I totally agree that its all about numbers, but honestly one cannot pay for the sort of advertising you get out of winning....

So heres to Private Girls winning the award for 2008 - it would be totally well deserved! Go Serenna! We can all make this happen if we just hit that vote button.....

Yeah gotta agree about the numbers thing too but I am glad we have that award nevertheless it is a good thing and I feel there should be a Male Escort of the year as they have male and female best stripper awards etc I am thinking of emailing the organisers.

I have been nominated for the 3rd year running now but not really interested in getting anyone to vote and can't be bothered and don't have the time really haha BUT I did go to the Awards night in 2006 and knew Foxy Alex would take the award that year and was extremely cute. It was a great night and if you are going to attend Serena then lets organise to get seated at the same table I am thinking of attending the night this year (not intending to win) as the entertainment and the wide array of ppl in the Adult Industry you get to meet is amazing. Amy you comming too?
