hmmmm ... latex ... delicious stuff!
couple things to this thread .... so I'll divide it up.
First off ... where to buy.
I've purchased a few latex things off Ebay for caz (as well as a shitload of PVC!! ...lol) ... she's a size 8/10 and the stuff is basically the Sharon Sloane stuff you can purchase at the Adult Shops. We've found a medium size fits her well and hugs her in all the right ways. It's a very light gauge rubber ... but it does the job nicely.
You'll need to polish it to bring out its best shine... something like a really good lube (such as Eros) does the job ... or you can purchase "Latex Shine" or similar. Just make sure it's not oil based, or it will eventually weaken the latex .. like non water based lubes can do to condoms. ALso .. use a non-lint cloth ... otherwise she gets a bit fluffy ... lol
There's also a few places over east that do mail order on the really good (and expensive) stuff .. like Reactor Rubber.
Second .... Liquid Latex.
This can be really fun to play with ... and only limited by your imagination really.. but there's a couple of things to watch out for.
To stop the latex "vulcanising" it has a very small amount of ammonia in it .. so you want to use it in a well ventilated space ... the smell can be a bit strong .. but bearable. Also .. it's a good idea to test it first against the skin .. to make sure there is no reaction to it.
Playing with it is fairly simple ... pour some into a bowl .. and then add colour. We use good ole food colouring .. doesn't take much.. just a few drops. Prepare the skin by either using a light coat of baby powder, moisturiser or baby oil ... otherwise you'll end up with skin a nice shade of whatever colour dye you've used .. and in case you're wondering .. in our case .. she looked a bit like a smurf for a few days... lol
Apply the latex with a one of the foam paint brushes rather than one with bristles .. as it will gum up ..... although finer paint brushes are great for adding art work.
Just use steady, even strokes ... it's great fun ... very regressive ... lol
Oh .. and keep pets away ... cat's get very curious ... and tend to stain!
Apply it one coat at time ... leave a lil time in between for it to dry. 3 coats should do it if you plan to "wear it out somewhere" so to speak *grin*
A couple of interesting effects for those so inclined ... blowing on it when it is drying is *very* like the feeling of ice being run over the skin .... and for the more ... ummmm "out there" .. taking it off with a knife is a huge head fuck ... very hard to differentiate between what is skin .. and what is latex.
Putting that aside though .. it's just plain fun to peel off by hand!
Any good craft shop will carry Liquid Latex ... last time I bought some it was around $10 for 500ml ... and a little goes a long way
Anyway .. hope that helps
cheers
