What people don't get is lets look at the correlational between the downturn in business including the sex game and the advent of Online Gambling and smart phone gambling, and how much that den of gambling near by Langtrees sucks out of each states economy, Melbourne cup day tomorrow how much increase will Crown take in Perth and how much of an uptick will the sex game take in tomorrow or any other game... Its funny how Chanel 9/7/10/ The ABC/SBS has all these news items to protect the vulnerable of society including the kids, BUT the sports report is sponsored by Gambling... I know a few business owners in Australia that have made this remark that ever since online 24/7 gambling has been allowed in Australia there takings since that day dropped off and never truly recovered even in this 28 year none recessional period.
 
Yes I hear but you do not change human nature we have been gamblers from Adam & Eve times and it will always be here, Every time a member punts he is taking a gamble that he has chosen right.

I have lived in a EU nation for over a year close to 2 , and never once saw a gambling advert anywhere even on public transport or TV , and the version of TAB is at train stations and in dark corners of the place and look disgusting... and guess what people have money to spend shops are happy, business is happy, no one talks about gambling its a social non topic, but in Australia get your multi on... get your bet on and "Back yourself" etc etc.. Australia is becoming one filthy nation in this respect..
 
It all boils down to politics and everyone getting their cut at the end of the day, the TAB in Oz has always been a strong contender with one almost in every suburb its every where to you even have pubs having a tab on the side. So of course they have leverage to get their message out there, with a loop hole to Gamble responsibly at the end. They are promoting while covering their asses on the addiction of their product. And since while the government won't admit it, it's got its hand in it as a side revenue for themselves. If you really knew the hands dipping into that pot you'll be disgusted on how such an act is allow to operate. For example remember that Chinese businessman that got caught with his illegal operation in connection with crown? That's just one of the few there's plenty more behind the scenes. And of course Crown to cover their customers and asses will deny any connections and prove that they have zero tolerance on the matter.

And Melbourne cup tomorrow there is 2 separate issues at hand. Government's don't care of the impact on individuals as big revenue maker. Alcohol, tabacco and gambling all have the potential to destroy lives and yet all legal
 
Gambling ruins everything, its addictive, destroys family.
Fuck it off.
Smoking is slow death, the fact we think its acceptable is just shit.
Lung cancers and diseases chew up a hell of resources.
I see them come in all the time.
Fucken, its a pitty that they wasted their lives and created a burden on our health system, which should not be taken for granted.

Betting agencies, casinos, Pokies, lotteries, horse/dog races, etc bring in a lot of revenue for governments.
The majority of people can control themselves and gamble what they can afford to lose.
Only a small minority of people are problem gamblers.
 
Worth noting that casinos and in particular Pokies are by far the most problematic for gambling addictions. Horses and sports betting get a lot of hate but are far from the biggest problem.

Our governments are addicted to the gambling taxes, can’t make budget without the pokie taxe
