Dogging is a British euphemism for engaging in sexual acts in a semi-public place (typically a secluded car park or a cinema) or watching others doing so. Frequently, there are more than two participants; both group sex and gang banging can be included. As observation is encouraged, voyeurism and exhibitionism are closely associated with dogging. The two sets of people involved often meet either randomly or (increasingly) arrange to meet-up beforehand over the Internet.
In September 2003, the BBC[1] reported on the 'new' dogging craze. They cited the Internet and text messaging as very common ways of organising meetings. The original definition of dogging (and which is still a closely-related activity) is spying on couples having sex in a car or other public place. This can become habitual and is a paraphilia known as voyeurism. Dogging once attracted mass media attention, to the point that it has become difficult for couples to casually park at a recognised dogging site without almost immediately being surrounded by a circle of rather pushy (and sometimes rather intimidating) single males[citation needed]. This led to harassment of members of the public on some occasions, police involvement, and a tendency for some couples to move their activities to other locations and towards 'soft-swinging'.
Although mainly thought of as a purely British phenomenon, there is some evidence on the Internet that the 'craze' has recently begun to spread to other countries (such as the U.S.A., Canada, Greenland, Australia, Barbados, the Netherlands, Norway[2], Spain[citation needed] and Poland[3]).

Hi all
There is a site called Australia Dogging or similar, we used to look on in now and then. One Friday night maybe 1 or 2 years ago we were going to see some friends who live near Whitfords and I posted on the site that we were going dogging ( all 4 of us ) at Whitford Nodes car park supposedly a hot dogging spot....
We mentioned the time, make and colour of our car and we left the interior light on for people to see and no one turned up!! lol We left after an hour and when we looked on the site later there were posts saying sorry we missed you etc
so not very successful
Might give it another go maybe we could organise something in here??

There is a site called Australia Dogging or similar, we used to look on in now and then. Wow, old thread, but interesting topic. I really dont think this stuff actually happens, I find most people around here are surprisingly all talk and dreams. Would love to be proved wrong though.

I think it does happen just a few people don't know about it.
I heard it use to happen at whiteman park but don't really know where.
It's like sayin sex party's dont happen because there not in your face but i can tell you from experience that sex party's do happen just because it's not advertised doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Apparently there are a few dogging locations around Canberra but I'm not sure how popular they are, esp in chilly winter. Black Mountain Peninsula has always been a popular venue.

Manly, North Head Belvedere & Artillery School
Manly's North head reserve has plenty of great private spots to have some fun. Go for a walk or run from Shelley Beach up to North following the path up from the Shelley car park to North Head. Venture of the path into the view points and bunkers for some secluded casual fun.
Mt Eliza Regional Park
On Two Bays Rd Mt Eliza. The old quarry a known dogging area and on opposite side of road, where toilet block is, more so for guys around lunchtimes and before and after work.
Glass House Mountains
Glass house mountains car park is a good spot on weekend nights.
Fyshwick
Turn off Newcastle Street into Wollongong Street at the roundabout next to the Shell station, then turn left at Maryborough Street. Park on the street or turn into the car park and turn right to park.
Morphett Vale
Toilet block next to the old church on church St, always guys and occasionally a lady or two to be shared around - a great spot .

I'd imagine the heat pumps would have to win over in the end. You'd have to be really challanged or on some serious drugs to be out "dogging" for hours on a brisk Hobart or Canberra winters evening.
