Greetings everyone, my name is Darrell Brown and I am the producer on a high end documentary currently being filmed worldwide on the difficult topic of Child Sex Abuse. I have formerly worked for 60 Minutes and similar platforms in my 40 years in the media industry.

Child Sex Abuse is now a national crisis here in Australia and the around the world, with 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys experiencing some form of CSA before the age of 15yrs.

Our research has shown us that a lot of young women who were victims of CSA often find their way into the sex industry. This was confirmed by Mary Anne, when we discussed the topic together last week. As such our production company are currently looking for anyone woman who would like to come forward and tell their story for the documentary... However not only would we like to interview you, we also want to offer up 4 spots in a professionally run 1 week healing program” that we will also be filming from the end of April- so we can follow your journey. (The program is optional.)

Darryl is looking for sex workers that were abused as children as the belief is they often don;t cope so well in life and turn to the sex industry. I mhave meet Darryl and he is on the level and it is a good subject if he handles it the right way
 
Jeez. I would want to be very careful before appearing on this.

Make sure you're ok with them spinning the story in every possible way and that you benefit from it somehow. The media are rarely kind to sex workers, and speaking as a former victim of CSA, these kinds of media pieces can be very detrimental to your emotional health and make it difficult to seek any legal redress down the road should you wish to pursue that.

So many red flags. Proceed with caution.

I am in agreeance with you on this. If any langtrees Ladies are interested in this make sure you discuss with me first and we will make them do interviews at langtrees only with the right paperwork that protects your image. Plus we will put in that editing cannot change what you say and how you say something.

That's a good idea. I've worked in media before and journalists and documentarians are ALWAYS sweet, kind, and gentle when they come to interview you. However they have full control over the editing process and are often ruthless in the way they distort the story later on. They're not your friends no matter how friendly they seem.

I'd also recommend independently recording the interviews yourself so that you can show what you actually said vs what they claim you said later on when they edit it.

They'll often do multi-hour interviews and only use 10 second sound bites that support their narrative. Even if you have a contract with them to not distort what you say, it's easy to find a single sentence that is legally an accurate quote but portrays you negatively.
