Coronavirus

America is going to get its citizens out... Australia doesn't want to offend the Chinese as that may impact the Federal Budget, like the Bush Fires and all that news which has very conveniently dropped off the news broadcasts... Funny when sco mo's approval ratings dropped the fire stories ended.
 
It's just a bad flu. It is infecting people at a much lower rate than other flu's . If people do get it they need to rest and stay hydrated. All flu kills some elderly, very young or immune suppressed people.
The way it's being portrayed is causing un-needed hysteria.

Interesting DFAT recommended as late as yesterday to stay away from Hong Kong and Thailand but China was left at “normal precautions”, go figure!

Can we keep the politics out of this please. DFAT know far more about the situation than you do.

There is a fair degree of misinformation circulating in the usual suspect social media and tabloid media currently. Getting correct information and news from Twitter is never a clever thing to do as it just creates a false situation potentially far more serious than it actually is.

He only does anything when it's already too late
China has closed all flights from Wuhan to Australia to limit the risks while Scotty does nothing
Who is looking after our best interests here?
Sorry but politics does belong in this problem, he should be doing more to get our nationals out of the region safely and as quickly as possible
I sincerely hope everyone who voted Scotty from marketing into power is now seeing the true "leader" he is and remembers this at the next election
The sooner he is gone the better off our country and people will be
