Pity it isn't carrying the right payload.... Thats what Perth needs....... Then start again in 2016 not 1916....

Old you say, I aint old... but The Perth mindset is plus the city itself.... Come on where to get a coffee after 7pm, The place is dead at night actually its violent at night now... Perth the town that supplied real wealth to China and other nations where by Perth is not too many steps forward in real terms from the start of the mining boom to now.... What really changed there, apart from BHP, and Woodside building two new office blocks, Hay street in perth, well Hay street in Kalgoorlie is dead but has more life than Hay street in the big smoke, Murray street mall is just as bad, The 3 major shopping centres were supposedly having extensions, well they have been put on hold from what I have been told, by store owners there, Other than a Train line from Perth to Mandurah what does Perth out of 25 plus years of mining boom have to show for itself? disgusting new suburbs without anything other than a park which no one uses and a looks like it comes straight form the Truman show, A local pub that closes at midnight, and 9pm on a sunday after the session....

Alan Bond wanted to make Perth the Sydney of the west, well he got told No... now look at it.... 5 hours on a Plane land in Singapore and wind your watch from 1959 to 2016.......... Barnett wanted to rid Perth of the dulls-vilve title, well that boring piece of shit'e has cemented that Title well and truly into his State and capital city.....

What Freeways? you mean that abortion called the Kwinana or Mitchel? FFS those are C- road classes in Europe...... ... Perth needs bombed and built again by Germans......

And I haven't seen any abortion being performed along our beloved freeways, Kwinana or Mitchell. I do agree it's a sham...and planning has been slow and the so called "widening" works wonders for sure. What jam? Just don't use the freeways between 3pm and 7pm. You be fine.

Why try to be someone else? The most appreciated feature of Perth according to our visitors is Kings Park. Have a big bit of bush in the middle of the city is something most cjties don't have. Elizabeth Quay is a shitty idea (literally in the case of the water). It was never going to be Darling Harbour of the west, its too small nev er mind it vulnerability to toxic algal blooms and sea level rise. Barnett is bereft of original ideas. We would have been much beter off with a larger low key development with scattered along the river and tiered development back up to St Georges Tce. It will not appeal to the locals. As for the stadium he should have gone with the original idea at Kitchener Park - much cheaper.
 
The greatest loss for WA really is the Capital should of been on the coast.... and not inland............

To sit on ones ass and whinge is easier than to pack your life up and move for some.... However the federal trumped up 500 Million for a train line to Perth International Airport so maybe those whingers will find it that little bit easier to leave... :)

lol the funny thing is Phoebe talks up adelaide :)... doesnt have a free way and doesnt need one .. has a jopb and needs to go to work ... the "superway"is a dumb idea to knowwhere ... its great ,..... then it joins the road just before the busiest intersections and creates a monster bottle neck

Hey Happy2, I have arrived into Adelaide after midnight after a long drive from the east, and as I got to the end of the South Eastern Freeway, and Portrush Rds, I saw an ontherun BP servo OPEN so I pulled in fueled up, got a coffee, went to the loo, got some milk and cereal for the morning, and a muffin to go with my latte, paid some cash, and left......... now in perth where could I do that?????

I used to travel to Adelaide almost weekly for a number of years, back from the days they brought out the buckets in the terminal when it rained.
It became difficult to pick the right days to go, mainly because it was virtually closed from Sunday to Wednesday!
 
Don't get me wrong Fee Bee I really like Adelaide
I just believe if you don't like somewhere Shift

I couldn't live in any city personally Have a good time in any city I go to generally
Dili was a hole But most cities have upsides

I suppose with 100,000 hectares you can move to a different part of it for a holiday, take a tent sleep under 1,000,000 stars, etc etc.......
