The Australian War Memorial combines a shrine, a world-class museum, and an extensive archive. The Memorial's purpose is to commemorate the sacrifice of those Australians who have died in war. Its mission is to assist Australians to remember, interpret and understand the Australian experience of war and its enduring impact on Australian society.

I lived near there whilst I was in Canberra, and I have been to the past 2 Dawn services there, wonderful really one of the capitals and even the nations best memorials and tourism things to do well done 10/10

Every time I step foot into the Australian War Memorial ever since I was a child I get goosebumps. The closing ceremony each day is a truly moving & to listen to the tour guides talk so passionately knowing they are all volunteers.

This memorial is not only an Australian icon but a true international attraction.
