The only AMP in Katherine that i know of is in the shopping mall just down from woolies but i have no idea if extras are available but it seems always busy.
 
Seems too out in the open to be that sort of place, about the most public open spot in town but could be wrong.

Yes it seems to be in a legit position especially with the bottle-o straight across from it with the Police there at opening time......You might be best off looking to see if any ladies are touring from around NT mate
