One of my only cardinal rule. This has been learnt after a long time of hard experiences in this industry.

Never, ever, under any circumstances give a WL anything at all before meeting them. No money, no gifts, no deposit, no ID. Nothing.

If you're about to send money over, stop on the confirmation screen, go pump one out...
 
Just contact your bank & ask them to do a reversal back into your account, because you paid a deposit to her for a service that she didn't provide you are entitled to get a refund, it's fraud plain & simple, report her to the fraud squad at least.
 
I would suggest that at tax time claim the $300 and put her details forward. That way the ATO will investigate her actions. If she has done this to several people, she will be charged with a federal crime. If not investigated, you have $300 rebate on tax. Good luck.

Not really.
If the ATO discovers he is falsely claiming $300 that is actually fraud as well.

Pretty sure it’s not tax deductible. If it was I would be neck deep in tits 24/7.
