My friend and I sometimes can get away at overnight but more often it is during the day but this is the worst time to get a hotel a you need to be out by ten and can't check in until two. This is pretty much peak hour for us. Does anyone have a suggestion where we can get a ltd check out or room just for a day? This is common in Europe but not so in Perth/Australia

The larger hotel chains will usually offer a "day rate" if you ask nicely (they will not advertise it on their websites). Usually it's in before 8am and out by 5pm.

Crown Promenade Perth have an "late late check-out" where you can extend to 5pm for an extra $165 as long as you've booked at least one night the night before. So you can stay 2pm through to 5pm the next day. Hope that helps.

My friend is only happy in hotels so we just work around that - I suppose it is better because we get to spend the night together, we just don't get to meet as often as we'd like.

Langtrees of Perth will rent you a room for 4 hours for $100, unless you really trash it then its $150 per 4 hours.This is a day rate only, and you need to point this out to reception as most of them don't keep up with room rentals and evade the question when asked.
