I wasn’t wearing my ring and she got so mad

P

Perth boy

Yesterday I was in Freo having a coffee by myself minding my own business. A lady came along and asked if she could sit with me and I agreed as the place was full and no other tables available. After a few short blacks and a great chat with her she asked if I would like to join her for lunch. I told her I was married and I didn’t think it was a good idea.
At this point she totally changed. She turned from this really nice lady to a total bitch. She started going off at me like I mean yelling because I did not have my wedding ring on and I should because I was waisting her time. At no point was I flirting with her just enjoying a chat. I don’t wear my ring because I lost weight and it falls off but it is on my necklace.

I found it frustrating that you cannot have a conversation with a stranger without them thinking more into it.

She should be str8 with what she wants to know. She should've asked if your married. That would have saved lots of angst on her part and save her heaps of time. You should carry a sign next time on your head that says I'm Married, f***off if you dont wanna waste your time. LOL

Not all married men wear their wedding rings , so slipping in the "Are you married " question would make life easier on her behalf

I stopped wearing my wedding band out of respect for the ring actually. I lost one in the pigsty and thats not real nice and another time it came off inside a cow, who was calving So thought the ring and what it stood for deserved better than that

something similar happened with me last week.
I was in the East Vic Park shopping centre at the ATM trying to get some cash out when a lady stands right next to me and starts chatting away at first i did not really take any notice but she kept saying that how expensive everything was and how she had no money plus now that she is 40 no bloke wants to look at her.!!!!!!!!
I eventually did turn to look at her at i must admit she looked bloody great for 40 very neat and trim body with nice tits to match and the face was pretty.
I just turned and said to her you look beautiful and she looked back at me with that expression like well make me an offer!!
But collected my money and took off

A lot of Asians I know also don`t wear rings and I think those that do sometimes wear it on the wrong finger.
Does anybody know how to tell without actually asking and perhaps looking foolish??

I wouldn't expect a stranger I am having a conversation with checking out if I am married or not. Wonder if it would have been ok for her if you (Perth Boy) would be in a longterm relation ship (no ring as far as I am aware)instead of marriage.
LOL.......next time I am starting a conversation with a stranger I will certainly keep in mind that he thinks I might want to hit on him........complicated......isn't it?

I think she was either pissed off because she got a knock back or most likely just had other issues and was a nut case.

Maybe you should go back to your poorer days PB You know Back to the $10 000 suits and the Maserati Then you would not get as many
money chasers as you seem to now

What a fruit cake! Take it has a compliment! ;) ya still got it!

I don't wear my wedding rings while on the job as a sign of respect for my marriage and husband (yet I sleep with men for a living lol, just go with me here people!) and quite often while I am out and about during the day I sometimes forget to wear my wedding rings but I do slip my husband into the conversation so I don't waste their time. If I'm out at the casino I do put up a facade 'DON'T TALK TO ME! I AM MARRIED!'

Shame this lady just couldn't enjoy a simple conversation with you without spitting the dummy. But i've gotta agree with you.... gone are the days having a nice conversation without someone reading too much into it.

ps. congrats on the weight loss. x

The flipside of this is, what does a wife think when the husband does not wear a wedding ring? Does she get this impression he still considers himself single? What if you started off wearing your wedding ring and then stopped suddenly. Does it look suss to her?

Yep would be suss for sure. In my case it don't fit anymore so that's why it's on my chain. Ring next to my face so why the hell didn't she see it.
The only time I don't have it on is if I see a W/L out of some sort of respect.

I've only had mine for a month I don't think I'd know what to do with myself if it wasn't there. I find it comforting to have it on my finger.

My hubby never wears his wedding band because of work. And he forgets to put it on, on weekends. I am not a jealous person though and trust my husband 100%
He gets picked up all the time but I take it as a compliment and I like to watch him squirm when he knows I'm watching lol.
