Are there goods or services you are willing to pay extra for due to brand, past experiences even though it may cost considerably more than what you could get somewhere else. Examples could be from food brands, flying with a certain airline, escorts to cars.

Ideally there is no compromise. And to demand the best is to respect the vendor.

But absolute uncompromisable circumstances with minimal exceptions is when I'm buying a gift.

Food, I cannot skimp on food and I like certain brands and will stick to them. Service, I will travel to a slightly further shop if I prefer the service there ie I love the IGA in a suburb that is 10 min drive away rather then then the 2 supermarkets only blocks away...they have divine fresh produce.

Coffee, I stick to the same coffee shops even though I have moved out of the area....hate bad coffee!

life is too short to settle for ok....I want great shopping experiences and I want to sit back with my ourchase and love it even if it cost me more or took me longer to get...I dont want to spend my life saying " ho hum, that will do"!

Beauty products and services I am definitely not willing to compromise and am willing to travel just to find that right one..
Restaurants I will not compromise too.. travelled 2 hours back and forth before just to have the perfectly cooked roast pigeon with plum sauce.. yum.. =D
and the same goes for all my shopping..

so i guess.. i would rather pay extra or travel a bit more just to get the one thats right.. !!!

couldn't agree more to this! I am a person who chooses quality over quantity so I don't really go for brands or products who doesn't meet my preferences/tastes/requirements..I certainly would pay more if satisfaction is guaranteed!

No budget airline if flight time is more than 4hrs, no china airline unless it is the only airline for that route.

Naughty Thoughts

Totally agreeing with Homer. I refuse to fly on the no-budget airlines. If I'm flying in Australia, I'll only fly Qantas.

Shame that they are having to lower their standards to keep competitive. I don't understand why they started up Jetstar to compete with themselves...

I am a bit mixed up on this topic,

I will always buy designer clothes, good resturants, fancy wine bars, coffee, girls etc and will travel. I would always buy a European car over Australian or Asian car its safer and in some cases faster.

When I travel to Europe I fly business class and stay in good 5 or 4 star hotels, eat great food and wine.

Now work this one out when I go to Asia I fly the cheapest airlines, get the bus or subway with locals, dont stress waiting 5 hours for a bus, $10 a night or less accomadation, eat of the streets with locals, drink cheap beer, ware a singlet and thongs, and have a far better time.

I'm staggered but I can now understand that it's misplaced loyalty that keeps Qantas in the air - and underpaid staff!!
How can you compare Qantas with Singapore, Cathay or China Southern - all chinese airlines and without doubt the best that I have ever flown with.

Contrarian

I fly SIA all the time, refuse to fly QANTAS when after 20 years of loyalty just found the standards become apalling.
