Its really amusing reading all the posts about the mining tax. Doenst look like too many people really understand the total concept. Might pay to do some research instead of echoing the sounds of the media and Abbot

Like the media I usually play to the lowest common denominator, realizing that not everybody has a high level of education, or the time to research the minutiae. Most only have the general media from which to garner an impression, not thinking there is more to the 'net than music, porn and games...
You might take a little time to think on it before disparaging others for their opposing viewpoint or lack of understanding...:icon_tong

September 7th more than two weeks have past since we went to the polls and still no resolution,when will we know who won.

this could be the best thing ever to happen to politics. might make for some non factional reforms

Only good thing to come out of this mess - those two country independants who put Gillard into the lodge will be toast at the next election. The Labor vote in their areas was under 10% which means they just ticked off 90% of their electors.

I am not one that usually has much to say about politics and don't know alot either.
Though to me there all a bunch of hypocrites. They say they want a stable government. Soon as the Liberals get a chance they do the usual kind of thing i see that goes on in parliament seen about 2am on the A.B.C.
All they ever do is carry on like a bunch of young school kids who can't get there own way.
Now you have Mr Barnett who was originally put there by a Green, whinging the rest of Australia is going to get some money from the mining adventures.
I didn't see him blocking a 4.5% pay rise for all the W.A pollies. I think i heard him say it's not a real good thing but still excepted it.

As i said i am not into politics very much but why do we need so many of them?
We follow America in nearly every other way so why don't we just become a republic and have one President?
Instead of a bunch of non trusting people who act like spoilt brats when they don't get there way.
Why can't they all work together as one and come up with the best polices that our country needs. Wouldn't that make the most stable government instead of having this party says this and that party says that.
All i do know i am sick of hearing about it every time you turn the T.V on and unfortunately it will only get worse. Only my opinion and i know all have different idea's.:walk:

Ohhhh sorry! I misread it, I thought the thread was captioned "FEDERAL ERECTION"! Damn! I've got to get sex off my mind and my mind off sex.
